![]() | Peter Pan's Flight for the 21st Century I'm really proud of this idea, the thing is though, I thought of it while I was at work - I'd rather be inspired in nicer places. To give HKDL an edge, and a wonderful attraction, I propose an entirely new version of Peter Pan's Flight be developed for Fantasyland - not a dark ride, but an IMAX simulator along the lines of Soarin'. You are a fly on the wall in the children's bedroom in London. Tinker Bell and Peter Pan burst through, and sprinkle pixie dust on us all... Imagine flying above an illuminated London with the wind rushing through your hair - heading straight for the clockface of Big Ben, before swerving at the last minute for the clouds and off to Neverland. Soaring over the Mermaid Lagoon, which glitters in the sunlight, smelling the fresh sea air as you travel over Hook's ship, getting closer, too close! You swerve through the sails as you are hit with curses and foul language (well by Disney standards of course! Example: sea rats! lol), float up over the Indian camp, your face is hit with warm air as you travel closely over the huge campfire, and as you soar over the Lost Boy's hideaway, Tinker Bell bursts on screen, shakes her head maliciously, as you lose your pixie dust and gently float back down into bed. My only worries are firstly the animation; this would be extremely hard to traditionally animate, and I'm not sure if you could do it properly, and secondly an IMAX theater would look very out of place in the courtyard of Sleeping Beauty Castle alongside Winnie-the-Pooh. |

![]() | Re: Peter Pan's Flight for the 21st Century This would need to be one of those attractions where you outside the berm and into a show building. Not to mention that Fantasyland already has one attraction where you sit and look at characters on a screen with Philharmagic. I think the size of the building and the need for it to go in Fantasyland kind of nixes it, I have no idea if the huge theater building, even if dressed up, would wreck the sightlines of the castle and the mountains behind it. If we're going to use that technology, a Soarin' over China would work in Adventureland. I'm not sure how much the locals would go for it, though China has lots of exotic scenery by our standards. Flying over the great wall and around tall buildings they've already seen might not be their fancy.

As for the new Peter Pan's Flight it sounds like too much for something whose magic comes from it's simplicity. | |

![]() | Re: Peter Pan's Flight for the 21st Century Peter Pan's Flight, suspended ride over displays...its a simple ride and simple way of execution...but it's very magical. You don't need to over complicate something which works so well right now. |

![]() | Re: Peter Pan's Flight for the 21st Century OK, I'm not proposing we replace the ride... Peter Pan's Flight is one of my all-time favourite rides, I agree it is simply magical... I was just saying it would be cool in a Soarin'/IMAX perspective as well... |

![]() | Re: Peter Pan's Flight for the 21st Century This is a great idea in my opinion. It could work with an aladin theme too, Magic carpet ride to the theme music "A Whole New World" |

![]() | Re: Peter Pan's Flight for the 21st Century Yeah, you have loads of scope with Arabia. It is always my favourite bit in Mickey's PhilharMagic when we (as an audience in the perspective of Donald Duck on the Magic Carpet) pull out of the back streets of Agrabah into a stunning view of the Sultan's Palace... breathtaking. An undescribable feeling which I also get on Soarin' when we hit Disneyland. |

![]() | Re: Peter Pan's Flight for the 21st Century I heard it was the next ride for Toontown? Probably just a blue sky musing, but if you ever get a chance to ride it, take it. |
