I believe the Secretary's comment about a 3rd theme park counts Ocean Park and HKDL as parks 1 and 2. He said HK needs 3rd theme park, not HKDL needs 3rd park.
I agree with Dusty...never going to keep those hotels full until there is more than one days worth of activity on property. Need to build a second park and move quickly on some entertainment/downtown Disney keep people spending money on property!
The Secretary of Economic Development and Labour re-iterated that they don't rule out the possibility of a 3rd Theme Park in HK during a radio talk show today. A 3rd Theme park will be built when the time is ripe. He further said that they don't have a solid plan and they are not in talks with anyone for a 3rd theme park now. He indicated that they are working on expanding the park at HK Disneyland Resort and the redevelopment at HK Ocean Park.
I guess they will build the 3rd park in HK when Disney and Shanghai have made an agreement to build a Disney Park in Shanghai, possibly after 2010.
