That's correct. At WDW, you go in what I like to call the "Servant's Entrance" below the house and I believe Tokyo's version is the same way.

My prediction: you will see this built at Tokyo DisneySEA in the American Waterfront area in what is now the bus parking lot behind Toy Story Mania. It is so completely different from the Haunted Mansion that OLC will be compelled to build it. They already have plenty of experience running attractions with the Line-Wire ride system (Pooh and Aquatopia), so this is a no-brainer for them. Expect construction to start within 18 to 24 months!

Couldn't agree more. It's amazing what WDI can do when not handcuffed by mandated limitations. If only we could get that in California......

The theme is nearly identical to Tokyo Disney Sea's Tower of Terror which is also in the American Waterfront. They wouldn't work together side-by-side.

I agree. I think its doubtful we will see this built at TDS. Also doesn't HKDL have world wide exclusivity on this for the next 5 years (i.e. can't be built at Shanghai's opening)

Actually the Mystic Point is located in a tropical rainforest, which hardly match the theme of American Waterfront. However I really love that WDI extend the storyline of S.E.A.(the society that Mr. Hightower joined) to Mystic Point. My view is, all of the rides related to S.E.A. should not be copied to any other park, which makes the storyline more unique and realistic. Rather than building a clone, it would be better to have more unique storyline in different parks.

If they were to build this at TDS, it's very possible. I seriously doubt that Disney has a 5 year restriction on building one of it's own rides. They never do that within their own theme parks. There is no "exclusivity" with Disney.

Also, there is a port within TDS that would fit perfectly for this attraction, and it's not American Waterfront. It could easily...very easily, fit within Lost River Delta. They need another headline attraction back there, and there is the perfect space for it next to Indy. Also, there are already ties to Harrison Hightower in that area too, so it would make total sense.

But the ride's theme is near identical to that of Tower of Terror in Tokyo.

Only in that they are both part of the SEA storyline, but otherwise they're completely different beasts.

I think just throwing Mystic Manor into another park without some of the additional material that is the surrounding Mystic Point area kinda cheapens things storytelling wise. Joining Mystic and Albert on another adventure on the other hand could be fun. Or just continue expanding the membership of SEA and explore more of those stories. Hell, you could rejuvenate Atlantis the Lost Empire and weld that into SEA by making Whitmore another senior member of the group.

Disney has granted HKDL 5 years exclusive rights to Toy Story Land (Asia exclusive), Grizzly Gulch and Mystic Point (both world exclusive). For the press release, see here: The Hong Kong SAR Government and The Walt Disney Company Applaud The Legislative Council’s Approval of the Hong Kong Disneyland Expansion Plan

"Two of the three new themed areas, "Grizzly Trail" and "Mystic Point," will be exclusive to HKDL for the first five years after their respective openings. The third, "Toy Story Land," will be exclusive within Asia for the first five years after opening."

But Mystic Manor took so long to build (work started in 2009), even if TDS started planning tomorrow I don't think it will be ready until 2017. Just hold it for a year and HKDL's exclusivity clause is over.

Yeah -- but remember the Fantasmic! Dragon. How long will it take before Garner Holt's AA's break down?

I love the sparkling light effects -- they appear to float around in 3-D. How is this effect done?

    Scrims I would assume.

And come on, Garner has a very good track record. What happened with the Dragon was unforseen.
