Frontierland in Shanghai is entirely on a much larger Tom Sawyer Island. Continuing the heavy use of water at the park, guests can only reach Frontierland by taking the Abe Lincoln steamboat or one of only three Sam Clemens Raftboats - the small number of rafts is to encourage people to take the more scenic jouney aboard the Abe Lincoln, a steamboat in the classic Disney style. It leaves the drydock at the Central Plaza (where the bridge/pathway to Frontierland would usually be) and travels half way around Tom Sawyer Island before docking on the other end of the island, not visible from the Main Street harbour. The boat then travels around the other side of the island, and picks up more guests upon its return. The rafts just travel direct from Main Street to the south end of the island, which leads to a path taking you to the center of the island.
The island is themed as a classic Wild West town, with a bit of Tom Sawyer sugar. There is the Fort Langhorn playground, which features an experience similar to the regular Tom Sawyer Island at other Disney parks. Also on the island is Big Thunder Mountain, which towers above the island on the east side, featuring great photo oppurtunities although dwarfed in size by the monster Sapphire Summit.
The island features a very high class American steak house with fish classics as well. It sits on a hill opposite Big Thunder at the other end of the island, the west, and has its own gardens created by horticulture specialists from Epcot. In the town square, there are regular Wild West cowboy shootouts (featuring Disneyfied pistols of course!) which feature the cowboys entering from the east and west on bandwagons with real horses :P.
I suffered a lack of inspiration with Frontierland, similar to Tomorrowland, but then I thought of water. The island is about the size of a regular Frontierland, and a half, with that extra half taken up by foliage around the edge of the island to form a barrier between the island and the steamboat. The water surrounding the island is part of the same body of water which forms the 'ocean' of Port Royale, which leads us on to the next part of the plan: Adventureland.
