Re: Headed to Hong Kong this September! Need help.

    Hey everyone,

Finally heading there next week! It hasn't hit me yet. Still have lots to do!

    Have some more questions

    1) Im staying in Mong Kok, but don't mind traveling. Any places to recommend for eating? Looking for dimsum, noodles (soup and stir-fried), seafood (is Under Bridge any good?)

    2) I am a Bruce Lee fan. Any places I can go?

    3) I am looking to buy old/used video games, as well as anime toys (macross, transformers). I'm going to go to Tokyo the following week, but I wanted to see if I can get stuff cheaper in Hong Kong beforehand. Any recommendations?

For #3, definitely go to Sham Shui Po. They Golden Shopping Arcade, and the surrounding smaller shops. Two stops north on the MTR, when taking the red line/Tsuen Wan line. That's the same line you'll need to take going to HKDL (with a couple of transfers of course).

Kowloon is the best place to be in HK. Mongkok has marketplaces with pirated stuff and alot of minimalls and stuff with original products.
Buy stuff in Tokyo. Hong Kong has alot pirated stuff. Sham shui Po might have a few things to offer but I remember the used stuff parts as junk mostly, compared to Japan.
Golden Shopping Arcade is good. Has original products... old video games? Perhaps a few.
IŽd buy them in Akihabara in Tokyo. You can find used games outside the stores on the streets there. Stuff one has to pay a fortune for in Europe and USA. If you have a Nintendo 3DS... bring it for some streetpassing

Then you must visit the Heritage Museum, which is hosting the Bruce Lee Art Life exhibition. Admission is only about HK$10. I have not been yet because it runs until 2018, so plenty of time for me to visit.

The museum is in Shatin. Take the MTR to Kowloon Tong, change to the MTR East Rail towards Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau. Alight at Tai Wai and change to the Ma On Shan Line. Ride one stop to Che Kung Temple Station. From there follow the signs. Basically the musum is just across the river from the station.
