Re: New Announcement expected today: Marvel attraction...Iron man ?

Funny how a non-Disney creative staff came up with this:

And how an actual Disney staff of creatives came up with this:

Please tell I'm just having a nightmare .. and I'm going to wake up ... and find out Disney is more creative than this!

    Please !!!

And if this is the best Disney can do - I fear for the design of Shanghai DL's Tomorrowland ... and any future revamp of any kind to DL-Anaheim's Tomorrowland!

    Be very afraid !!

If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

Live that art, that is why I hope they save Marvel attractions for a third gate. They will have the room for a full experience. In Hong Kong they had to come up with something that not only blended with the surrounding style but also fit in a small area.

a third gate with a Marvel land could have some outstanding structure with multi layer attractions like the art shown.

    So this ..... ...........

    Blends in with this..........

Did you perhaps want to re-think that?

The land is full of whimsical curves ... and Stark Tours looks like something out of the early "boxy" 80s.

Small space? They could do something whimsical that goes vertical.

I'll have to show an example later.

Re: New Announcement expected today: Marvel attraction...Iron man ?

    And here's my example -

In 1976 MGM creative staff came up with some unique "vertical" futuristic buildings .. that I think are cool ... to this day:

The triangled building is my favorite -

Couldn't the Disney Co. .... do something for Stark Tours ... with some vertical "bling" to it?

You would think Disney Imagineers could take a few cues from other architects around the world - Like the recent City of Arts and Sciences in Madrid Spain:

OH, .....NO ..... that's much too hard for them!

Best they just aim low .. and stick with mundane "fast food restaurant" building fronts, like it's 1975!

No no I think it does only because the architecture in that land in Hong Kong has an eclectic feel with mostly Sci fi 60's look.
the pictures you posted are mostly night photos with lots of lighting and neon that definitely make the place look alive. The artwork does not show how it might look at night. Lighting place a big part in how buildings look.

is that iron man building the best they can do? Of course not. But it does work.
Maybe I am seeing something that you are not but maybe because I look at artwork with a different perspective after being in the advertising industry for almost 30 years. I also think that the art they released is only one of hundreds showing the building from different angles as well as others that show how it will fit with it's surrounding.

at the end it is just my opinion and I am basing it on on the size of the land they have available, the designs of the other buildings including height and dimensions as well as the layout of the land they have to squeeze this into.

As for going verticle, fine they could do that but you or I at this point do not know if they have height limitations or if a tall bundling would only make other structures look out of proportion with something to high.

There is reason many of the structures are not extremely high just like they picked a replica of sleeping Beauty Castle for that park one of those being the surrounding mountain range.

it all suppose to compliment itself.

Well, budgets are one thing. Feasibility is another. One of those will actually be built.

The giant cowboy hat lights up at night.

Been there, done that, hated it.

By the way, the image of Arby Tours IS a night shot with very limited depiction of night lighting.

At least the title "Marvel Iron Man Experience" will give it some warmth. Or not.
