Could that really be a possibility, are those mountains even close enough and does HKDL own that property? If so then that would be and truely amazing sight.

When I visited DLP Tink didn't fly but did make a special appearance during the castle and tree lighting ceremony (holidays) which was very cool. If HKDL could do something similar, that be a good substitute for lack of a flight.

That would be amazing to see. Imagine how fast Tinkerbelle would be flying by the time she covered all that distance to get to the castle. She comes in for a huge crash landing cruising at 80 mph after going a mile on a zip line. That would be awesome.

Maybe. I find the Golden Mickey's Theater to be very quaint and attractive...if not just out of place thematically.

It just reminds of something that belongs in Paradise Pier and not Fantasyland.

Well there or Main Street, it was modeled after Herb Ryman's original Plaza Gardens.

TDLFAN, this may be your best work yet.

You actually made me want to visit this park, badly ... and that's knowing that to call it DL-Lite would be generous. Those pics are absolutely stunning in many cases. Adventureland and Fantasy Gardens come to mind.

I think I've told you that I have worked as and with professional photogs and your work here is right up there. HKDL should hire you and use some of those in a book or for postcards.

    Great work, my friend.

And don't despair, Small World is definitely on the way.

Re: TDLFAN's day at HKDLR in photos

Why Thank you WDW1974! I am flattered. I feel HKDL gets a bad rap.. Yes, it's very small; Yes, there's not much to do; Yes, the restaurant selection is very weak (especially if you are not into chinese meals).. and so many others say the park has no "charm". My intention with this album is to show the little things that folks do not stop to look at along with the obvious. As tiny and insignificant as HKDL may be, the park has a more detailed and thought out look over say....the MK. Even with a small budget, the Imagineers were able to deliver a park that looks great and have decent attractions and shows to begin with. It just doesn't have THAT many. But the park itself is a little gem. People need to get past the small attraction list and really appreciate the work that went into building the atmospheres of this park. That alone placed it as my #4 favorite DL Park out of 5.

Re: TDLFAN's day at HKDLR in photos

Well I am extremely impressed with the overall theme of the park. It is very 'toony', what I mean by that is that everything is exaggerated and realistic yet unrealistic at the same time... hmm... I'm struggling to word this. For instance Adventureland... it is more 'Disneyfied' than other Adventurelands, which is more real. I also love the timeless look that Tomorrowland has taken on, it is futuristic without having to be scientific, cute and whimsical.

The major thing I'm raving over is the sculpture and art in the park. I am in love with it. The statues dotted all over the park - a few off the top of my head are Mulan's horse, the Toy Story aliens on the Railroad, Pooh and Piglet, the Fantasy Gardens broomsticks and Mickey, and don't even get me started on the fountain - are really beautiful and add a delightful touch to the park.

I am also extremely impressed with the parade. It really does look detailed and fun, I would love it to replace Share a Dream at MK. But then again, wouldn't we all.
I had also heard bad reports about the Disney in the Stars show, but it didn't look too bad - I saw quite a few effects from Remember, but I still can't figure out why they didn't clone Wishes. After all, wasn't it developed to be a generic fireworks show easy to perform at all Magic Kingdoms? On the other hand, maybe a brand new park with a wary audience didn't need a full-blown storylined Disney fireworks show, just a basic fireworks set to classic Disney music show.

Anyway. This has definitely made me want to visit HKDL more, although I will wait to see what the future holds rides-wise before I make any rash decisions. Not that I can, I'm 15. I'm just disappointed with the lack of guests - quite the opposite to the reports I heard of guests being crushed.

I think "Disney in the stars" is better than "wishes" (Soundtrack wise). I don't think a fire work show has to have a storyline. And with "Wishes" who knows whats going on. It feels kind of choppy. But Disney in the stars just flows much better.

TDLFAN, thanks for the pics (as always) and thanks for saying what I've been saying
as well: Yes, HKDL is small, but WDC really learned from the DSP and DCA fiascos and
really put the QUALITY into this park. It's definitely evident in all the pictorials.

Oh, your photography in the Royal Banquet Room is really, REALLY good. Nice job!

BTW. what are the three parks ahead of HKDL in your list? I can guess: TDL & TDS,
    but what's third?

Great job, but I wished he had taken pictures of their Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Tiki, CBJ, Small World, and Mark Twain. He completely ignored Big Thunder.
