    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

(HONG KONG, June 13, 2006) - It's raining, it's pouring but that doesn't mean the show can't go on at Hong Kong Disneyland! Inclement weather will not stop the fun in the theme park this summer as it presents Mickey's Rainy Day Express, a completely different parade experience uniquely designed for Hong Kong Disneyland.

Tailor-made for rainy days, Mickey's Rainy Day Express is a whimsical steam train-inspired float with four-carriages led by a train engine in vibrant hues of orange and blue. Guests will be able to hear the arrival of Mickey's Rainy Day Express even before they see it, as the lyrical sound of a specially composed tune will send toes tapping throughout the Park.

Each carriage comes alive with its own classic Disney story as some of the world's most beloved Disney characters greet guests along the parade route. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, princesses Cinderella and Aurora, Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie as well as Alice in Wonderland are just some of the Disney characters featured in this vibrant moving spectacle.

And as a grand finale, the most famous gang of friends - Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto, Chip N' Dale appear in super cute custom-made raincoats guaranteed to spread cheer on even the gloomiest day.

Bobby Garcia, Show Director at Hong Kong Disneyland said, "We wanted to create a new parade to provide a unique spectacle even in less favorable weather.

"With Mickey's Rainy Day Express, guests will enjoy the same fun and entertaining elements as offered by our famous Disney on Parade. Expect surprises when you visit the theme park!"

    Staying Dry While Having Fun

Getting caught in the rain at Hong Kong Disneyland is the perfect excuse to head to the nearest gift store where a range of fanciful umbrellas await guests who can choose from whimsical umbrellas with Mickey Mouse ears poking over the top, or Minnie Mouse ears complete with polka dot hair bow.

Little girls will love the pretty-in-pink parasol featuring the full array of Disney princesses while boys can shelter under the watchful gaze of Buzz Lightyear whose umbrella comes complete with retractable wings.

Or dress alike in transparent raincoats available in both adult and children sizes. From the back, Mickey Mouse's cheerful smile is beaming happily at the world.

Or choose a small Mickey Mouse-head shaped bag that unzips to reveal a raincoat that comes in red, green or blue. The perfect size for carrying in a handbag, the coat can be safely stored away ready for another enjoyable - if wet - day at Hong Kong Disneyland.

Stay dry at Hong Kong Disneyland with a range of Disney-themed umbrellas and raincoats, available at gift stores throughout the Park.

Yup, they sure do! The umbrellas are neat as well. Don't think they'll ever bring them state-side as I don't think the demand will be that high.

TDLFAN: do they sell these in TDL?

Thumbs up Re: Hong Kong Disneyland Debuts Exclusive Parade - Mickey's Rainy Day Express

Cute parade! Good idea... and it's not too long (so guests don't have to stand in the rain forever in one spot), but thankfully it's not SUPER short (like when DL here in Anaheim just uses the double-decker bus with a few random characters).

I think that'll work good for HKDL.

RIPOFF RIPOFF!!!! TDL has been doing the same rainy day parade with similar train-like floats re-used from their "Disney's Express" special event for about 5 years now!!!! RIPOFF!!!! Download this TDL video of their rainy day parade...courtesy of Joe's Tokyo Disney Site.

HKDL continues to be the most UNimaginative park ever put together by DisneyCo. Everything they do/have seems to be borrowed from another Disney park or business. How shameful.

I may have seen some similar items at the Japanese Disney Stores but can't recall if the parks have them, but I think not.

At least the Train at HKDL is better looking than the one in TDL (they look like they are wearing an OLD Purple bra at TDL, UGLY and GROSS) LOL

They are planning the "Nothing to Ride" parade (one float) to symbolize the year of the Pig.

Yes I will conceed that TDl's trains are not as great looking as the new ones they have built for HKDL Rainy Day Parade, but that is because the Train used in the TDL parade was one of 5 used several years ago during TDL's spectacular Party Express special event and they used to have giant inflatable characters on them, which may be the reason for their clumkier appearance. But look again.. the pointy Madonna bras you see is actually the ears in Mickey's face. So get your mind off the gutter kiddo... Even the music they play in the HKDL parade is TDL's Party Express music, so make that a DOUBLE RIPOFF!!!! At least TDL's Rainy Day has an original piece of music.

But nevertheless.... you claimed this to be an "exclusive" parade to HKDL. Not true... it is yet another parade concept taken from TDL's extensive history in parade events.

No offense but while it may be a ripoff,I kind of perfer it to the original at Tokyo. While not exactly a original idea ,it is still a nice edition to the park and sets Hong Kong up a notch compare to the US and the Paris parks, that despite also having a lot of wet weather have never offered anything close to this!

I like it, it is a great idea to at least put on a short parade in the rain. It should at least entertain people when they are not expecting it. I am not bothered by they fact it got inspiration from TDL it is a little bit of magic for your rainy days. Kudos to HKDL and TDL for thinking of guests like that.

And Mickey is soo cute in his little rain coat.

I guess you are right. But FYI... DL in CA also offers a rainy day character parade, on the double decker bus.. I know.. not as good but it's something.
