Source: ForbesSHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - Shanghai has started to plan for the relocation of residents to make room for a Disney theme park, the China Securities Journal reported.
The government of Chuansha town in Pudong New Area, the prospective location of the park, has held a meeting to arrange relocations for the project, the paper said, without citing sources.
The first phase of the project covers an area of 4.25 square kilometers, according to the paper.
The theme park is expected to open in 2010 to coincide with the 2010 World Expo the city will host, the report said.
The city is still awaiting final approval from the central government for a Disney theme park.
