it's not really a parade. The float comes in from next to the stroller rental, stops in front of the tree and exits next to the opera house. What is that, about a 1/4 mile.
But it is lovely all the same. There's something about Santa in his sleigh, a lit Christmas tree, and snow falling (even if it is only bubbles) that warms your heart and makes your nose tingle.

Merry Christmas! And yes, I know it's not thanksgiving yet, but the whole 15-20 minute event just puts me in a better mood.

This sounds like a good system. It is effect a removable stage.
During the daytime you get an unobstructed view up and down Main Street and all the guest space that is required but you also get a stage at night time to host the tree lighting festivities.
IMO it beats Disneyland Paris where there is that vacant stage on the hub all day long that ends up being an eyesore because it obstructs the view of the castle.
    Upcoming Trips:
Tokyo Disney Resort 20-22 January 2011
