so do they already have enough land available for lots of expansion of their magic kingdom? like new lands (frontierland/toon town/unique land), large e-tickets (PotC, HM, etc) and all that stuff? is there enough land set aside already to really boost hkdl's ride count?
Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.
If you go up to Tarzan's Tree house and look to the back of the park (past the theater in the wild) there appears to be acre's of open land. www.hkdlsource.com has photos of the open space to the back.
Further to the photos of current clearing and construction, below is a map showing the original (pre Golden Mickeys and Autopia) plan for the park openning.
The map clearly shows that there is a heap of vacant space outside the park's berm, to be used for future expansion. The map also shows the area to the right that is marked as "Phase 2", this is the area that is being reclaimed, which is quite seperate to the land for the expansion of the current park.

There is no concrete decision that the phase 2 land will be awarded to Hong Kong Disneyland for expansion, there was talk that Universal Studios could get it, although it is probably just bargaining between HK Govt and Disney.
Phase two land reclamation is going to be completed before the current HKDL has finished expanding. There is plenty of existing space in the current park for it to expand. I really hope phase one gets all the proper rides it should have before Disney worry about the second gate.
I wonder what Disney has in mind for the plot of land marked 15 in the map above?
