HKDL to Host 'Largest Outdoor Dance Party on NYE'

Christmas isn't quite upon us, but that doesn't stop the good people at Hong Kong Disneyland from already planning their New Year's party. They've sent us over details of their 2007 kick-off in this fun-sized press release.

ORWEN: I just hate it when he forces us to wear leather outfits and then chains us to the wall, threatening to beat us with whips and chains. Is that any way to celebrate New Year's Eve?

ORGOCH: Guess if'n ya lives in Los Angeles, it's a normal way a Life. Don't know 'bout Hong Kong er Australia, though...

Re: HKDL to Host 'Largest Outdoor Dance Party on NYE'

I will be reporting this event and make comparison with last year's event.
HKDL for you directly from Hong Kong.

from what i saw last year, it wasn't really a Dance Party. Didn't see too many people dancing (perhaps a few) at HKDL last year. Countdown Party? yes, Very crowded last year, but i wouldn't say it was a Dance party. Anyway, it is highly controversial.

and regarding this year....If there are over 300,000 people attending the Street Party at TST (i'll also be there) tonite, Outdoor Party at HKDL can't be the largest in Hong Kong this year.

Besides the NYE's Countdown at HKDL, Times Square at Causeway Bay, LKF, .....there are lots of celebrations going on over here in Hong Kong.
I will be attending the Christmas Eve's Street Party at TST. (it is estimated that there will be a HUGE crowds tonite!).
The next issue of Fan-Zine Magazine got lots of content to be covered!

There is no controversy, reason why you won't hear about it.

Controversial? Hmm, bad word choice? I would have used debatable myself, but then it's debatable whether or not this is controversial.
Controversial that parents would allow their children to ring in the new year with a mouse? Or the freebies being given away by HKDL? Or dancing? I've heard that's bad for your neck muscles when you are wearing an enormous head. Ask Buzz!

Re: HKDL to Host 'Largest Outdoor Dance Party on NYE'

It is controversial because it Really ISN'T a Dance Party.

Far from being a DANCE party. The main course is NOT Dancing!

A NYE's Party.? Yes, it is a New Year Eve's Party.

Dance Party? NO!!! NOT a Dance Party.

"Mickey’s 2007 Countdown Party"? Yes, It is a 2007 Countdown Party.

and "Mickey's 2007 Countdown Party" NOT = DANCE PARTY

There is no such thing as "Free Lunch". When they gave out Freebies last year, They raised the prices on various items in the Park.

It is also controversial that they said they have the largest outdoor dance floor in Hong Kong.

At any rate, Disney seems to be defining their event as "Hong Kong Disneyland transforms into the city’s largest outdoor dance floor". While dancing may not be the main event, much in the same way that any other attraction in or around the park is not the main event at Disneyland, the fact that they are staging it on NYE indicates that it IS an event.

I just report the press and occasionally comment, my good sir. If you want to arm wrestle, Disney would be the people to roll up the sleeves with.

At any rate: 1) it is a party; 2) there is dancing; 3) the space is outdoors; 4) it is larger than a chicken.

And if something is larger than a chicken, according to Gould's Book of Measurements and Procedures, it constitutes the Largest Dance Party in Hong Kong. It is a very odd book indeed.

Peace, brethren! Always remember: 'Tis the Season to be Silly!!!

Excellent! I should know better by now. Subtleties of the English language are not always grasped. I have been shaking my head over this one for a bit now.
Thanks for the word Loomis, I was looking for that one to use in one of those terrible papers (about language and it's subtleties) I'm writing.

Hee...everybody is doing a PhD except me. I have an Honours Thesis, but no PhD.

Was thinking of doing one after my next big holiday, but the amount of money it costs to study these days is ridiculous.

Not smart enough for that yet. That's part of the 5 year plan. Have to finish first things first. Maybe I should do my thesis on CM language on rides at Disney. Politeness, errors with language, surprising things they come out with. Hmm, no then again not! It might just ruin the magic.
