香港迪斯尼欲斥資數十億元擴建 港府不排除注資

中新網9月11日電 香港迪斯尼樂園明日(12日)便迎來開幕兩週年紀念日。據香港商報獲悉，樂園的今年入場人數雖然未見起色， 但整體收益卻超越去年。其競爭對手海洋公園上周 剛宣佈加價，雖然迪斯尼暫時無打算調整票價，但正與特區政府雙方磋商注資數十億元推行5年擴建計劃“救亡” ，並希望今年內推出“半日票”，致力開拓新客 源。

　　為了“谷客”，香港迪斯尼的母公司華特迪斯尼有意注資數十億元到香港迪斯尼樂園推行5年的擴建計劃，推 出更多大型設施及刺激的電動遊戲。香港商 務及經濟發展局局長馬時亨日前亦一改前任局長葉澍堃指特區政府不會額外注資的說法，“鬆口”表示特區政府不 排除注資迪斯尼。據香港迪斯尼有關人士透露，雙 方目前正積極磋商注資事宜，但由於特區政府新班子上場不久，有關磋商仍需要一段時間。


　　此外，香港迪斯尼亦致力開拓新客源，推出一系列新措施吸引遊客，包括在淡季推出3款學生年票，以吸引一 批年輕新客，全年通行證持有人更可于9月 1至23日，免費帶1名親友到樂園玩。迪斯尼有關人士說，這些“拋磚引玉”的措施，都是希望可以吸引更多人 流入園消費，增加收入。迪斯尼有關人士續稱，計 劃為65歲以上長者提供優惠，有關優惠套票包含了門票及餐飲，主要適用於週一至週五。


　　旅行團旅客方面，過去由於不少內地旅行社都將門票較便宜的海洋公園列作指定行程，較貴的迪斯尼則為自選 行程，而令迪斯尼流失不少客源。有關人士 表示，正與旅遊業界積極商討推出“半日票”，預料價錢會比目前的門票平一截，但具體入園時間及訂價則尚在協 商當中，希望可以儘快推出，最理想的情況是今年 之內會有好消息。

Walt Disney Company and Hong Kong Government have been negotiating for a multi billion dollar 5-year expansion plan.

The New Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development has already revealed that there is a possibility for Hong Kong Government to inject further capital into HKDL for expansion.

Well, this sounds like a very positive development. It was beginning to seem like any future expansion would be forever bogged down by politics.

I still think HKDL should sever its links from the government and be bought up by a private investor. The HK govt is simply not able to react to market changes as swiftly as a normal business.

Anyway it is good to know that Disney is planning to invest in it. It is certainly welcome news.

If they could somehow buy out the HK government it would be the best possible move they could make for the resort's future. As it is now, the issue of expanding HKDL is debated by politicians and its performance often seems to become a political issue. Disney shouldn't have to be worrying about these things when it comes to figuring out what's best for the resort's future.

I say its about time and hope this news is true. If they are smart they should be building 2-3 E-ticket attractions simultaneously. Not just 1 every 2 years. Give the fierce competition that Macau is dragging some of its tourist business over there. If Macau gets its act together an really transport Las Vegas over there then, HK Disney is gonna have huge competition.

Mr. Ma, Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development have mentioned "we don't rule out the possibility of injecting further capital into HKDL...." several times on different occasions.

He is sending out a message..

Mr. Ma said he just can't reveal further commercial sensitive details due to the confidentiality clause of the agreement they made with The Walt Disney Company.

But when asked if they would speed up phase 2 expansion (2nd gate) , Mr. Ma said they have to study it further. He reiterated that "we don't rule out the possibility of injecting further capital into HKDL....".

Mr. Ma emphasized that other Disney Parks expanded slowly and gradually.

I'm sure back in Burbank they're shaking their heads at the original deal and the long, frustrating and politically-charged road to turning this park into a success. How many more years can they go without a major new attraction before the park completely loses its initial momentum?

The official commie view is to excute it "slowly and gradually:" The policy falls in line with the development Hong Kong Disneyland and the pace of democracy in Hong Kong.

But Mr. Ma also said that "there is nothing that could not be changed".

He said the policy is different now since he took office as the new secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.

I expect a similar deal as HKOP would be struck between HK Government and The Walt Disney Company. They will expand HKDL gradually in the next 5 or 6 years.

HK Government as the major shareholder of HKDL will probably inform their partner, The Walt Disney Company, what mid-term and long term development plans are in the pipeline, e.g. Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Mega Bridge, Tuen Mun Western bypass, Tuen Mun and Chek Lap Kok Link etc...All those infrastructure have positive impact on tourism in Hong Kong.
