HKDL announces encouraging results for Halloween event in October

As reported by Hong Kong Disney Blog

some good news coming from HKDL.

They have a successful Halloween Event.

All figures for park attendance, guest spending, hotel occupancy etc have gone up.

They said they would continue to focus on Festive Celebrations and Special Seasonal Programs as it is quite obvious that such strategy works.

The next big event is Christmas!!

Well by the looks of it, they did pull off a very impressive Halloween event so I guess it's good to see that it has paid off. Maybe this will encourage them to actually invest in the park

Hmmmm... is this is the case, then why was HKDL so dead the Sunday I visited last month? I mean... you all saw the photos of Ghost Town, err... Main Street USA.

I don't know which Sunday you went.

Usually there would be more people on Friday/Saturday than Sunday because of the Evening Ticket Scheme and extended hours.

but the only sunday in October with extended hours and evening tickets was 28th October 2007.

THE figures paid off to their great effort for this seasonal event and hope HKDL will make it better for the Christmas seasonal event.

So Hong Kong Disneyland is only fun during a holiday? I'm looking forward to the Arbor Day festivities then.

Of course the numbers went up. When people hear about the Halloween stuff going down at Hong Kong Disneyland they go and take a look at what's new. That in and of itself doesn't fix the things wrong with the park.

It's like people saying, "If Rockin' Space Mountain sucked so much, then why was it so popular and have 90 minute waits, huh?!" That's because it was only open for a short while and it takes time for people to try it and decide on a verdict.

They should not focus on seasonal programs at HKDL. They should focus on fixing what's wrong with the park in the first place, then do the seasonal stuff.

There is nothing wrong with the park except the severe shortage of attractions. That will come in time... but in the meantime, the special events add value to a visit there, and if this bandaid helps some until the real deal comes up later... then I am happy, since one of my favorite activities at the parks are the special events. Variety adds spice to the usual offerings.

Also the seasonal events will encourage more locals to buy Annual Passports which should will in return spread the word about this park to tourist visiting from other parts of China and Asia. Plus it sells a ton of merchadise which in return will keep Hong Kong Disneyland from falling, until the capital arrives to finally expand this park.

I agree with TDLFAN. It is very important to attract guest to the park with such events as HKDL have insufficent permanent attractions. No matter the park is doing good or bad such events a must to have.
