Very cool, Bennett. I always love the CNY merchandise for HKDL, as it just perfectly sums up the fusion of east and west in HKDL. The plushes are a little bit different this year too, which is cool.

That merchadise looks great, is it any wonder why Hong Kong Disneyland is second to selling merchadise in the Disney park stakes with beautiful stuff for sale like this.

Mickey and Minnie's costumes are clean, simple, and effective -- very mature for seasonal theming. Is Minnie's dress supposed to be reminiscent of cherry blossoms (or whatever those pink petals are)? If so, it works well.

I love the "Chinese warrior" theme for Mickey and the gang. The plushes look very nice, as do the figures. The pillows are remarkable -- I don't think I've ever seen anything so elegant in terms of stateside merchandise.

I wish they would sell some HKDL merch at the China pavilion at Epcot. Not that I get the chance to go to WDW that often, but at least it's closer than HKDL...

Minnie's dress is supposed to be peony, or other flowers that people in China use to buy during CNY for lucky meaning. there are some Chinese words on Mickey's costume, which is Gong Xi Fa Cai/Kung Hey Fat Choi, loosely translates to "Congratulations and be prosperous".

for more traditional custom during CNY, you can see at Wikipedia.
most of these traditions will be seen in HKDL
