    Closed Down Attractions?

ORWEN: This is a question for anybody who might know the answer. When we read a recent report from Katsmom, she said something about certain attractions being closed down at Hong Kong Disneyland, for the time being. But us Cauldron girls just wanted to know which attractions these are? I think we read that the Train that goes all around the park might be one of them. Who knows for sure?

    Re: Closed Down Attractions?

The Train doesn't run, the HKDL story (opera house) is closed, and the UFO zone is shut down for a while. For the train, it's obviously for the construction in Adventureland. I'm at a loss as to why it's down for the entire loop though and not just the first half. The Opera House is rumored to be a summer attraction, and The UFO zone? No idea.
The worst thing that's not working is the small world clock, but there is no notice on the board for that one. That is an attraction in itself. Well, at least it is for those of us who sit and watch it for 3 hours straight...

Actually, something possible would be giving way for 'The Art of Animation'
As everybody know, it opened at Fall 2008.

Hmm, UFO zone closed. The last time I heard it was closed because one of the trees fell. I wonder why this time around.

ORWEN: Oh, that' so funny about the UFO zone. I mean, I don't even consider that to be an attraction at all--even if HKDL management does. They sure like ta pretend their guests are dumber than they are. Anyway, thanks to all who answered our question, here.

UFO Zone has a barrier around it, as at the 26th. I have to say, the lack of train meant a little something was missing, as I've always felt it is a great way to finish a trip to the park. (I guess my 5th turn on Space Mountain just had to suffice). However, if it means new things in Adventureland, I'm all for it!

By the way, I'm back in Sydney - and my full report with photos should hopefully be up in the next few days...Missing the place already. Was great to meet our Chief Spy too!

Can't wait to hear your trip report! Too bad I didn't get to meet up with ya when you were in HK.

Are they digging a tunnel under the railroad track or something? maybe to prepare for the future Adventureland expansion?

    Re: Closed Down Attractions?

ORWEN: They really should do that, you know.

ORDDU: Personally, I'm surprised they didn't think to build those tunnels right from the start. They had to know they would be expanding outside the current rail road tracks. I suppose a witch has to chalk it up to poor planning on the part of those in charge at the time.
