BURBANK, September 26, 2007 . . . "Bunnytown," a new music-filled, humor-filled puppet variety show that invites preschoolers to experience life through the eyes of a group of endearing giggly bunnies, premieres SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10 (11:00 a.m., ET/PT) during Disney Channel's learning-focused Playhouse Disney programming block. Viewers will get a sneak peek at the stars of "Bunnytown" beginning October 8 when Louise, Melvin, Super Bunny, Li'l Bad Bunny, Inventor Bunny, Disco Pirate Bunnies, the Bunnytown Band and many more bunnies, begin popping up throughout the Playhouse Disney block, leading up to the series premiere. The show will regularly air Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 a.m. ET/PT.

Produced in the United Kingdom, "Bunnytown" is Disney Channel's first full scale international production. The award-winning talent behind the series includes longtime Jim Henson Company veterans, Martin Baker and Pete Coogan; and David Rudman, Adam Rudman and Todd Hannert, creators of the hit preschool series, "Jack's Big Music Show." The series premieres in the U.K. on November 3 and will continue to roll out internationally through mid-2008.

"'Bunnytown' is a true international collaboration, combining the best talents in puppetry, music and children's programming from the U.S. and U.K. to create a series that will resonate with preschoolers all around the world," said Nancy Kanter, Senior Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channel. "Humor and music are great ways to engage and teach kids, and we hope the dynamic residents of 'Bunnytown' will encourage viewers to laugh, learn and dance along."

Set in a bustling world where laughter rules and carrots are a close second, the bunnies of "Bunnytown" create a fun-filled, comedic learning environment. Bunnytown has its very own superhero, inventor, caveman, mischief-maker, rock star and school-age bunnies, to name a few. The bunnies play, sing, dance, hike, go on picnics, and even blast into space. Some of the more curious bunnies burrow their way out of Bunnytown through colorful tunnels and emerge in the neighboring Peopletown to observe the comical antics of their human counterparts, including a live-action Laurel and Hardy-style silent comedy team, among others.

Each half-hour episode features a wide range of original music representing a rich panoply of musical styles including hip-hop, disco, country, cool jazz, girl-group pop, klezmer, piano and guitar rag, and light opera. The Bunnytown Band, which was inspired by the looks and sounds of Earth Wind and Fire and Sly and the Family Stone, are a mainstay of every episode, performing their greatest hits such as "The Bunnytown Hop" and "Making Music."

The series' educational curriculum is designed to support children as their understanding of, appreciation for, and participation in humor burgeons during the preschool years. "Bunnytown" draws its greatest influence from visual humor and visual support for verbal content. The series also takes early academic skills such as counting, shapes and vocabulary and places them in humorous context so that kids can learn while they laugh.

In partnership with Disney Channel, "Bunnytown" is a production of Baker Coogan in the United Kingdom under the leadership of Martin Baker and Pete Coogan, long-time producers for the Jim Henson Company. The series creators are the three-man team of children's television veterans David Rudman (Emmy nominated performer for "Sesame Street"), Adam Rudman (Emmy Award-winning "Sesame Street" writer) and Todd Hannert, creators of the hit preschool series, "Jack's Big Music Show." Todd Hannert and Terry Fryer are co-musical directors and composers. The curriculum advisor is Karen Leavitt, Ph.D.
