Disney/Pixar's Wall-E Blasts Off June 27th at Hollywood's El Capitan

DISNEY/PIXAR'S "WALL.E" BLASTS OFF AT HOLLYWOOD'S EL CAPITAN THEATRE FROM 6/27 - 8/27

SPECIAL DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT ALSO OFFERS LIVE "DISNEY'S FLIGHTS OF FANTASY" STAGE SHOW AND NASA/JPL SPACE EXPLORATION DISPLAY

Burbank, California - June 10, 2008 - Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre celebrates the arrival of Disney/Pixar's thrilling and hilarious new computer-animated comedy-adventure, "WALL.E," with a state-of-the-art digital cinema presentation, a live stage show (Disney's Flight of Fantasy) and a special NASA and JPL space exploration display throughout its special engagement from June 27th to August 27th, it was announced today by Lylle Breier, senior vice president, worldwide special events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Guests will be able to enjoy "WALL.E," the latest entertainment extravaganza from Pixar Animation Studios, digitally projected and with spectacular sound. "Disney's Flight of Fantasy," an all-new live stage show preceding all showings of the film, brings favorite scenes from Disney and Pixar films to life on stage with a cast that includes Mickey, Buzz, Woody, Jasmine, and many others. The space exploration display features models and replicas of some of the robotic vehicles and specialized equipment developed by NASA and JPL for missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond.

Daily showtimes are 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 9:45 pm. Tickets are now on sale at the El Capitan box office (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), on line at www.elcapitantickets.com, or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. Special discounts are available for groups of 20 or more by calling 1-818-845-3110.

Adding to the fun, Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store (located adjacent to the El Capitan Theatre) will be serving up "The WALL.E Sundae," an imaginative out-of-this-world dessert with a brownie tread foundation, piled high with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce, and topped off with a chocolate mold of WALL.E's eyes to complete the treat.

Commenting on the announcement, Breier said, "'WALL.E' is great entertainment for the entire family. And only at the El Capitan will audiences get to experience the film digitally projected in a spectacular setting, along with a wonderful live stage show and a fascinating space exploration display. Moviegoers are going to love seeing 'WALL.E' at the El Capitan Theatre with everything we have to offer."

Set in a galaxy not so very far away, Disney/Pixar's "WALL.E" is an original and exciting comedy about a determined robot. After hundreds of lonely years doing what he was built for, WALL.E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL.E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and is whisked back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word on board the luxury spaceship Axiom that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL.E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most incredible comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen. Joining WALL.E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.

"WALL.E" is the latest film from Academy AwardR-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton ("Finding Nemo"), who joined Pixar in 1990 and went on to write the first five Pixar features, co-direct "A Bug's Life," executive produce "Monsters, Inc.," and win an Oscar for Best Animated Feature for "Finding Nemo." Jim Morris was the film's producer, with John Lasseter serving as executive producer.
Tickets are now on sale at the El Capitan box office (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), on line at www.elcapitantickets.com, or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. Special discounts are available for groups of 20 or more by calling 1-818-845-3110.

I was a little disappointed with El Capitan's offerings for WALL-E. The few NASA cases didn't really do it for me.

I think the AA should have made an appearance, maybe cleaning up after the live stage show.

Still, the movie was amazing ^_^
