![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun I don't like the gold on the Partners Statue. It stands out too much. I guess it is just too different for me. Maybe it will grow on me. Kevin was right how the old one gave it a feeling of being from ancient civilization or something. Now it feels really modern and cartoony. |

![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun I'll tell you why I'm not hot on the statue. Having Mickey two-toned, and Walt monotoned throws the statue out of balance. Your eye is drawn to Mickey and away from Walt. I don't like it. I'm all for playful. I'm looking forward to the "new" statue at DCA. But it looks as if they broke this one. They should have left it. If they wanted to snazz it up, they should have made the entire statue shiny. |

![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun Thanks for the update Kevin. When I read "The Beach Boys" I immediately thought of DCA. Not a good thing. I don't think I'd like to hear them anywhere in Epcot. I don't like the statue either. It looked better with consistent coloring. Definately less classy now. |

![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun I'm quite sad to see that Buzzy is officially gone. Cranium Command always entertained me. I hope it's on YouTube at least!!Future World is a totally different place than when I first went to Epcot. Was that part of the design of Future World, to constantly update what the 'future' will be? |

Best. Quote. Ever. It's been a while since the two of us talked About a week since the day that you walked Knowing things would never be the same With your empty heart and mine full of pain So explain to me, how it came to this Take it back to the night we kissed It was Dublin City on a Friday night You were vodkas and coke, I was Guinness all night We were sitting with our backs against the world Saying things that we thought but never heard Who would have thought it would end up like this? Where everything we talked about is gone And the only chance we have of moving on Is trying to take it back Before it all went wrong Before the worst, before we mend Before our hearts decide It's time to love again Before too late, before too long Let's try to take it back Before it all went wrong There was a time that we'd stay up all night Best friends talking till the daylight Took the joys alongside the pain With not much to loose, but so much to gain Are you hearing me? Cause I don't wanna miss, Set you a drift on memory bliss It was Grafton Street on a rainy night I was down on one knee and you were mine for life We we're thinking we would never be apart With your name tattooed across my heart Who would have thought it would end up like this? Where everything we talked about is gone And the only chance we have of moving on Is trying to take it back Before it all went wrong Before the worst, before we mend Before our hearts decide It's time to love again Before too late, before too long Let's try to take it back Before it all went wrong If the clouds don't clear Then we'll rise above it, we'll rise above it Heavens gate is so near Come walk with me through Just like we use to, just like we use to Let's take it back Before it all went wrong Before the worst, before we mend Before our hearts decide It's time to love again Before too late, before too long Let's try to take it back Before it all went wrong Before The Worst - The Script ![]() I'm not out to change Kids' TV. I'm out to change the way people think about it. I'm in excruciating pain right now. What's your excuse? | |

![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun That paint on the statue is another waste of money by Disney. It looks awful! The monolithic color was nice, but two toned statues look weird! Especially gold! The wonders of life should now be called the sadness of life pavilion. |

![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun The garden railroad display in the Wonders Of Life looked really pathetic. A wooden box covered with plastic grass and a few loops of track? I have seen better displays at the mall. This is supposed to be Disney. It's supposed to be fantastic. It's supposed to be far beyond what the average person or shopping center could do. Talk about sad! |

![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun i have to agree on the statue unfortunately. when i saw my first partners statue at DLP this time last year the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, just like they are now thinking about it :-) i reckon this look would definately take away that special feeling. and i totally get the sombre/happy debate. i would definately go with the sombre, the whole place is the happiest place on earth, a place of quiet reflection is needed. |

![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun I've never cared for the statue, but even I can see how it was better without the gold paint job. There is a bust of Shakespeare in a Stratford church, which was originally colored and then irreparably whitewashed by some 18th century doofus. Lesson: don't paint over statues.

![]() | Re: 3/27: Fun Fun Fun The Partner's statue is awful! How they could take Blaine Gibson's creation and make it so underwelmingly bad is almost criminal. It is like painting the Mona Lisa blonde. I can't stand it and if they do the same thing at Disneyland I will lodge a complaint at city hall each and every time I visit. Tacky. What once was a wonderful tribute now plays like an cheap theme park kiosk figure selling T-shirts.
