Ride-Through of Knott's Kingdom of the Dinosaurs

This video brought back a lot of memories for me. Of course, as kids tend to, I loved everything dinosaur related and this ride managed to be scary in the best of ways when I rode it for the first time. I sadly didn't grow up with Rolly Crump's Bear-y Tales, so this was the gold standard Knott's dark ride I recall from visits there. This was before Jurassic Park came on the scene and became the dinosaur theme park ride of choice, and I was greatly reminded in a few spots of Kingdom of the Dinosaurs when finally made it to Animal Kingdom and rode Dinosaur/Countdown to Extinction (minus the delightfully cheesy noodly music and slow pace at Knotts' ride). So, enjoy this trip back in time in both theme park sense and pre-history sense:

It wasn't Bear-y Tales, but it was a good attraction. I think Kingdom of the Dinosaurs gets a bad rap today simply because so many folks have such fond memories of Bear-y Tales. I enjoyed KOD. Really.

I went to Knott's literally only a few times as a kid. I haven't been there since except for the Haunt this last year. I vaguely remember a time machine ride, and my sister does too. This is probably it. Where in the park was this?

The area in back right of the park with the kind of Mexican/Spanish decor, where the Uncle Bobo's maze line started. Hard to orient yourself to Knott's in the dark if only been there at Haunt, as I know from experience heh. The former entrance is above ground level and been closed for years.
