Knott's Train 60th Anniversary Dinner on the train in the Durango Car

This was a special ticketed event for the 60th Anniversary weekend. Dinner on the train in the Durango palace car.

The car looks like this. There is seating for 14 at dinner.


The chairs swiveled.


Individual tables for each chair were brought out and attached to the wall.




A small hallway back to the kitchen area.


Some pictures on the wall with a little history of the Durango.


Of course there was entertainment.


And food. Fried chicken was offered but we decided to try the lasagna and steak instead.
There was also Boysenberry butter






And what's a train ride at Knott's without a robbery. He was very gentlemanly though.


And a visit from the engineer.

That looks amazing. As far as childhood memories go, Knott's is equal to Disneyland for me. Anything that reminds me of the way Knott's was is golden in my opinion. That "robber" works the birdcage theater, I remember his fondly in the Christmas Carol and Gift of the Magi play.

Yeah, we've seen him at the Birdcage too. Our guide out to the train was a Birdcage actor, too. We spent a bit of time talking to him about it and how it would be nice if the Birdcage was year round again

Agreed Mike. At least 2 shows on the weekend in the Birdcage would be nice. Honestly, something like that would tempt me to get passes, not another sickness inducing roller coaster.
