Pepsi Loses Cedar Fair Contract, Coke Back in.

There is a rumor coming out of Sandusky that Pepsi has lost the Cedar Fair contract to Coke. Pepsi has held the exclusive soft contract for CF since 1992. Prior to that Coca Cola had held it since the incorporation of Cedar Point Inc. in the early 1960's. There is no official announcement at this time, but as I recall there was none when Seaworld switched from Pepsi back to Coke.

Pepsi coming into the Knott's was the beginning of them going downhill. Bringing Coke back is just another sign that it's getting better!!

I was always a Pepsi fan but they both lost me when they started using HFCS. That stuff makes me seriously ill. When I go to theme parks I no longer look ( or care ) about the vendor as long as they have drink choices without HFCS in it, even if it's just a bottle of water. I'm sure Coke's own line of bottled water will do.

Not sure if you've tried the Pepsi Throwback with real sugar that they offer, but that stuff is pretty good.

Soda Sidenote: If you are in the LA area you should try to hit up Galco's in the Eagle Rock area. Incredible amounts of independent bottlers, and a ridiculously knowledgeable staff. Dublin cola is now my all time favorite soda because of this place.

Oh yeah, I certainly have and I swear by that stuff. Pepsi Throwback and Mexican Coke are the only two big-label products out three I can drink. Smaller products like Jones soda work as well. Thanks for the advice!

FYI, that Dublin Dr. Pepper is no longer for sale. I know Galco's owner John Nese pretty well and a few months ago he said what little he had left in the store was all that was left. Dr. Pepper insisted that the Dublin distributor stop selling in the U.S. so what you got is all you'll get unless you import it.

I know it's wrong to say this, but I somehow associate Pepsi in theme parks with unruly, ghetto guests and higher food prices. Seeing Coke at Knott's will somehow make it feel more traditional. Yay.

Yeah the Dublin Dr. Pepper is still in some places in my area but it's dwindling down and we know that it will the last of it. John at Galco's told us the story of how it went down and it really bummed me out. Anyway he pushed the new Dublin cola stuff on me and my friends and it's the best thing ever. Their "Vintage Cola" is incredible! (Awesome picture, BTW)

Holiday World is a Pepsi park, and they give it away for free, and I've never noticed any problem with the guests. Although there are a number of various conclusions you can draw from that info.
