Re: Knotts to update the Timber Mountain Log Ride!

The new scenes and figures look fantastic! Amazingly fluid movement glimpsed in a few places, and all the scenes and characters mean will have to re-ride it to see them all. Really glad Knott's 'bit the bullet' and dedicated money and resources for this refresh.

Strangely enough, I'm fond of that recording myself, as ridiculous/ambiance breaking as it is.

I must ask...why wasn't Marion Knott or any of the Knott family invited?

I would surmise that they are going to the VIP party on June 15th.

The sets look nice but the logs rush through them so quickly. I wish there was some way to slow them down.

The flow rate in the flumes are about as slow as they can do without bringing everything to a screeching halt down at the loading platform. If you reduce the pitch and the flow rate you would need "kicker" jets along the trough to keep things moving, much like what's in POTC. Once your log is released at the top of the lift it's gravity that keeps the water and the log moving until they lift you up for the final drop.

Re: Knotts to update the Timber Mountain Log Ride!

Finally had a chance to take a ride through Timber Mountain. This refurb was one of the best attractions I've been on in quite some time. I can honestly say that it felt like Pirates, but just much much shorter (obviously if you know the track layout.)

The photos, the reviews, the youtube videos do not do this justice. You really have to go to Knotts and see this one for yourselves.

I mean it....get off the internet and buy a ticket to Knotts. If you aren't blown away, I want you to PM me and tell me how wrong I am. Disney, please take note: They did not need a movie franchise to base the ride off of. Imagine that!

This one little refurb has completely changed the feel of the park for me. While in line, I looked over at the graveyard of steel pylons for Silver Bullet, Jaguar and Sierra Sidewinder and didn't mind them. In front of that steel mess stood the Timber Mountain in all it's glory: Freshly painted and perfect.

I couldn't help thinking to myself after riding: I think the people in charge finally get it. Knott's is a special place and they're finally beginning to embrace it.

The only issue with the Log Ride is how bad it makes the Calico Mine Ride look. We went on right afterwards and...ouch. That refurb honestly can't come soon enough.

Kudos to Knott's, kudos to Matt Ouimet, kudos to Raffi Kaprielian, kudos to Garner Holt and anybody else responsible for bringing a classic back to life.

WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS?? GO EXPERIENCE THE RIDE YOURSELF!
