    Re: WindSeeker Opens Next Week

Amusement Ride and Tramway (ART) Unit in California is going to need to inspect and approve these modifications before it can reopen.

I wouldn't say the Knott's ride will open first. That statement is pure speculation. In fact, California will be the hardest to reopen because of the state government's intrusive inspections and meddling in the amusement industries business. If it reopens first then everything went well with the state inspection, but the other Cedar Fair parks where these same rides exist won't have to go through the extensive BS that California puts permanent amusement ride operators through.

When the others open, then we will see Knotts open their own version. This could be delayed until the summer
The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).

No, you will see Knott's Windseeker open when the State of California says they can. You can't operate any amusement ride in this state, portable or permanent, until DOSH signs off on it and issues a valid permit. The other rides will open when the states they are in give the okay and signs off on them. What happens in one state doesn't mean it will happen in another. California is noted for having one of the most strict ride inspection porgrams in the country.

I see nothing wrong with having stricter safety standards than other states.

There should be a sticky thread called "This Day in Disney History." The company has a long history and this would be a good way to acknowledge it. Walt was born 112 years ago; that's quite a chunk of American history and culture.

Still haven't seen it running, and I live down the street from it. Hell you can even see the top of the ride from my housing complex.

So from what I gather we shouldn't be expecting a reopening any time soon if at all. Word on the inside is that until a safer way to bring people down from the top is found, these things are not going to be flying again.

The ride is ready to open but currently CalOSHA will not allow them to do so that other states have signed off on. Apparently German designs don't make sense in California.

They might be a Dutch company, but the engineers could be German.
