Plus, honestly the park could use a good, solid family attraction that appeals to more than just the thrill demographic. They've got a few really good rides already, but the park's still fairly coaster-centric. They've got room to grow in that direction.

The only construction going on is for Halloween Haunt and some low key stuff for the new dark ride. If anything that big was coming for 2015, we would have seen some kind of groundwork by now.

I'm willing to bet money that Knotts is going to get a version of this ride! Set your expectations VERY low people, as Knotts is going to be spending a lot of money to get the old KOD building up to code for a new ride.

Sigh, 11 years and counting since Knotts last major thrill ride.
It would be interesting to know how the budget was spent on Wonder Mountains Guardian, since the ride seems to be pretty industrial. I wonder what would have happen if they had just created it as a classic style dark ride in a building next to the mountain and create the illusion of entering the mountain. If so would they have had the budget to create more theming and environment along with the video game portions?

Hopefully if the ride does come to Knotts, they will invest in theming and animatronics as part of the experience. If the ride is coming to other Cedar Fair parks, they could share the development cost in something a bit more detailed.

If people want Bear-y Tales 2.0, Where's the response? Where's the drive? Where is the motivation? Where's the petition (if any)?

If alot of people want this to happen, you better act fast. I'm just sayin'. If anything, maybe the IP will make a comeback for a new dark ride....don't ya' think?

Knott's knows that there is a fan base. I am not sure that a petition or anything would help at this point. If a new dark ride is coming, chances are they already have a theme set.

Personally, with the recent track record and effort Knott's has been showing lately, I think we'll be happy with whatever theme they go with. It very well could be a Bear-y Tales re-launch given that it's clear they want to tap into and for lack of a better word preserve the park's history.

I'll just be happy with a new dark ride if and when it happens. The fire that broke out at the building (welding accident?) indeed proves they are working on something in there.

Not to mention that next year would have been Bear-y Tales 40th anniversary! Also those abundant references in-out of the park. Mainly that kid's menu in the Chicken Dinner Restaurant that uses the characters. In fact, there has got to be a reason for why they did that along with engaging the kids to the IP. It seems like subtle advertising if you ask me. Perhaps with help from a "certain person" on here, maybe some clarifications would be nice. I may be looking highly deep into it, but I feel that something is going on.

Also if Cedar Fair brought back singing mushrooms at King's Dominion, why not the Bears? It wouldn't make no sense if they didn't retort to that IP. They would be wasting time without looking into it. After all, that's what having an original IP close to the park's history is all about...

Like I mentioned too. Next year would have been the ride's 40th. Which makes a ton of sense....

They've recently gutted the balcony. Something MAJOR is going on.

I saw a similar photo over on the Knott's Preserved Facebook page. I am sure they have to reinforce that whole balcony and make it up to code. I hope the arches aren't gone for good!!

Wow. I saw the pictures of the interior from a year or so (I think) back showing the damage to the building, and it was something of note even when I worked there back in the late '80s - there were areas you were encouraged not to go into, then a gradually expanding "no go" zone.

Glad they're doing something, and really do hope it's connected with the park's history. Even if they did a '20s themed dark ride I think I could go for it.

I hope it will be a reboot to Bear-y Tales. That or have them throw in as side characters/cameos.
