Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
    Marge: Pink.
    Homer: D'oh!
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"

Thumbs down Re: Are you ready for some REALLY Gross Food?

Not to gross you all out ... but we are most likely already eating some gross stuff:

http://vm.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/dalbook.html - These are the FDA guidelines ... so this is what is okay to have.

ASPARAGUS, CANNED OR FROZEN - 10% by count of spears or pieces are infested with 6 or more attached asparagus beetle eggs and/or sacs

PEANUT BUTTER - Average of 30 or more insect fragments per 100 grams, Average of 1 or more rodent hairs per 100 grams

Drupelet, Canned and Frozen (blackberries, raspberries, etc.) - Average mold count is 60% or more

BROCCOLI, FROZEN - Average of 60 or more aphids and/or thrips and/or mites per 100 grams

CURRANT JAM, BLACK - Average mold count is 75% or more

MACARONI AND NOODLE PRODUCTS - Average of 225 insect fragments or more per 225 grams in 6 or more subsamples, Average of 4.5 rodent hairs or more per 225 grams in 6 or more subsamples

PEPPER, GROUND - Average of 475 or more insect fragments per 50 grams

POPCORN - 1 or more rodent excreta pellets are found in 1 or more subsamples, and 1 or more rodent hairs are found in 2 or more other subsamples, 2 or more rodent hairs per pound and rodent hair is found in 50% or more of the subsamples

Dang, it gets worse than lutefisk. Impressive. For the uninformed (lucky you!) it's cod, dried, soaked in lye for 8 days, soaked in water for another 8 days, then boiled and served with white sauce. Kind of winds up like fish jello.

As far as the insect parts and all in our food, if it was perfect you couldn't afford to buy it. They do what they can. Grow your own.

that's what I kept thinking throughout the whole artical...I ust know it would be there.

the funny thing is a friend and I were talking about olive loaf yesterday of all things...as a kid I loved it,now I can't even look at it, but it amuses me that it made the list....

but the worst, the absolute worst of the list is the spiders, I could do the cobra hearl before even touching the spider...litteral do not think I could put a finger on the spider, but I could probably choke down the heart....

...ok to much of a personal visual...oing to go throw up now.

I've actually had sea cucumber. It wasn't that big of a deal. I'm not sure why it's considered super gross.

I know two people who absolutely love sea urchin. Uni shooters. I've looked at one, and I just don't think so.
