My 18 year old grandson has a flat tire on his bike. He's out looking for a Summer job, but I told him that he waited too long. I think he'd rather be working than doing anything remotely related to school work. His mother thinks he'd find a job a whole lot faster if he had his driver's license. That thought scares me to death.

Just got back from a week in Hawaii. The main purpose of the trip was to greet my son, as his ship returned from deployment in the Persian Gulf. Lots of facebook pictures. Don't know if this link will allow you to see them.

Since I can't plan out my D23 schedule just yet (I would love to go to all of the Pixar panels!!!!!!!), I'll tell you (along with anyone reading) the story now.

When I ended my conversation with you, I was between Fullerton and Anaheim. From that point on, at every station stop from Santa Ana to Irvine to San Juan Capistrano, hordes of people would board to train. And not to Comic Con mind you but opening day at the Del Mar Race Track in San Diego. I'd say a good 75% of these people were not sober at all, which I guess was their reason for taking the train in the first place. It didn't really help that one could buy alcohol on the train too so very quickly, it turned into the Party/Hangover train.

There were so many of them that it was standing room only and this group of girls near me was getting especially wild. One of them had me high five her and then she lost balance and almost fell into my lap (ha!). This guy was asking everyone if they'd help him pick races and I almost wanted to volunteer (and probably would have caused him to lose so much money!)!

You just don't expect this at 11:30 am to noon though! I couldn't even listen to music on my ipod because they were so loud.

So that was my trip to San Diego!
