How To Close a Stuck Window?

Hi, i am BACK with another crrrrazy question!

One of our windows is sticking... it's now STUCK. I've tried and tried but it'll only gho down so far... It's like 3 inches open. I'm a bit nervous having it open overnight and of course, I'm me, so I'm freaking I won't be able to close the window at all.

I'll call the landlord tomorrow (this is what we get for waiting!) but until thn... any tips to get it down? Maybwe WD-40? Oh, it's in a wooden frame, it's OLD, but I think there's metal at the bottm.

    TY.

You be careful NNL, I just had a coworker we took to the hospital for breaking a window that was jammed, and he has to have three surgeries to repair the tendons in his arm. He has had two so far at this point.

I say WD-40 that sucker or some grease then carefully work each side of the window.

I would be wary of using WD-40 on wood. It is very possible it will cause the wood to swell, making the jam harder.

I would recommend a hammer on a cloth on the top of the movable portion of the frame. Well, that and patience.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh Lorie, I will tell you how to really do it, but you have to be very very quiet about it

you paint your face with blue paint, and put bright red lipstick on.... put a pair of under wear on your head, scream and jump up and down, while saying there is no place like home, there is no place like home!! then slap your head 2 times do a full circle while hopping on one foot, and then jump high and when you land on your feet your window will just come down on its own.

your welcome, any time you need my help do not hesitate to ask. I am there for you hon!!

When I was a kid, my mom always used bar soap to loosen things up. Furniture polish sounds like a good option too. Or a rubber mallet!

Re: How To Close a Stuck Window?

    Karla!!!!
I took your advice and it was still stuck
    Sasy girl.

Well, I tried a few things I found on the Internet (yeah forgot to ask 'til right before I left MC Oops!), but that didn't work. Since i'm renting, I didn't want to break the window or mess it up so I waas scared to do too much!

Then my roommate came home, and, being brilliant opened it up to push it back down, and instead it was stuck up, like a foot!!! So we put blankets to try to keep the cold out and closed the door to that room.

OH! and, somewhere alonmng the way, when I was trying to open the blinds, the plastic that holds the blinds' strings on broke off! So those need to be replaced as well.

Anyway, I called the landlord this morning and h came and unstuck it. He hit the stuck side really really hard and pushed hard and I thought he was gonna break the window but he didn't. He said that the, uh, spring? is broken??? And usually when that happens the window hangs off and won't move, but of course we have to be different!

So, next week he's gonna fix it, and the blinds.

But thanks for all your help!
