    Losing hair... gulp...

So, I used to shave my head... really short hair all the time.

I got tired of it so I'm growing it out.. .it's getting pretty long.

And I can't help but notice that ever time I take a shower I am leaving quite a lot of hair behind.

I've never had hair long enough to notice if it is leaving normally or not. If I'm going to go bald then I'd like to know.

So, Question: So, does hair fall out like that normally?

I think I read somewhere that you lose about 100 strands of hair a day. (Not that I sit there and count each hair that falls out). Here is a link for you to read:

My hair is receding quite a bit but not sure if its continuing to spread, seems to have been at this spot for some time so I am guessing it wont ebb any more.

I'm used to it at this point. I've accepted it. In fact I find it sexy nowadays too on others.

Hey, did you ever see that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine was dating the bald guy? And then she saw his driver's license and realized he was shaving his head, so she talks him into growing his hair longer, and then he realizes he can't and he actually is going bald? That was funny.

I have nothing sustantial to contribute. I feel like I'm on the Chris Farley show! That was awesome.

Everytime I shower I get a handfull of hair. I gather it as I rinse the conditioner out or it really clogs up the drain over time. I have alot of hair though. The strands themselves are fine, but I ahve alot of them. My stylist use to hate to straiten my hair. It;s natutally curly and thick so it took forever...LOL...she loved when I siad to just let it be curly...LOL

My hubby is rapidly balding and I think he looks sexier than ever. His shiny little patch is just so darn cute!

A vitamin defiency can sometimes cause hair loss!

Alos, if you were pregnant and taking pregnancy vitamins , and then nursing , and stiil taking pregnancy vitamins...your hair may have been thicker than normal....so once all those things ceased , you could start losing all that extra hair.

But....I don't think this is the case with you!

Okay, I came back because I didn't want you to think I just barged in here earlier to be obnoxious. Actually, I keep my hair cut pretty short for a girl and it's not until I start growing it out that I see any hair loss. I guess when you have more to lose, you naturally just notice it more.

Now my brother in law started losing his hair, and his eyebrows, and his eyelashes, the hair on his arms and legs....He has alopecia, which is like an autoimmune disorder where your body rejects the hair for some unknown reason. If you are experiencing anything like that, then you should call your doctor.
