Angry Where are the Disney cycling jerseys?

You would think with the popularity of all things Disney, surely there would be lots of cycling jerseys with Disney characters on them. So far, I've only been able to find one. It's currently on Ebay:

Are cyclists too small a market for Disney licensed products?
Have bicycle, will ride. Finished 2012 with 10,089 miles, 683 hours, and 482,000 feet of elevation gain.
    2013: 201 rides, 8171 miles, 544 hours, 480K feet.

Re: Where are the Disney cycling jerseys?

I remember when they did a series of Jerseys with Mickey Mouse included.

Quite honestly, I couldn't see wearing one because the designs and artwork were really substandard for Disney quality. As shown in this photo, Giordana Italian Cycling clothing company tried, but it failed.

It would be great for fun rides or centurys that's about it. I could never see a cycling team sponsored by Disney.
It's a novel concept but, they need to come up with another way to market the clothing, when and if they try again.

Yeah, that jersey is pretty ugly. You would think Giordana could do better. It's not like there isn't plenty of good Disney artwork out there.

    **totally off topic**
I bought a bike today...nothing fancy though. It has 21 speeds and I've learned out to change most of them and it has hand brakes.....LOL...So, far I have been to the end of the street and back 3 times......I have also learned not to squeeze only the left brake, because it stops the front tire and makes me fall off....no worries I was going slow...LOL.

    Congrats on the new bike.
Yeah the newer brakes (V-brakes) have pretty good leverage, so I definitely know what you are talking about. Good luckto you, I really hope you enjoy it.

    No its not.

It's that Disney doesn't understand the European/cyclist market-share they might own here and abroad. How many of us have watched the Tour de France?? FWIW - OLN during last years Tour had a market share similar to the CBS show "the new adventures of old christine" which just got picked up for the fall. HUGE - beyond huge- for a cable outlet.

They are just now "getting" the European market after 15 years with DLP. Look at the French market, for example: Nestle. How many Nestle water signs did you see last Tour? I didn't even know Nestle HAD water as part of thier line. And now you see it, not only all over Europe but here NorCal-plain and multiflavored.

The cross-promotional opportunities LAST year with Armstong and his bid to win his 7th Tour were just ferme' la bouche'!( just shut up!!!) Two of my fave NorCal cycling teams are just rebuffed by the big sponsors.

but hey, it didn't come to SoCal so - fffffffftttt! who cares? its not in OUR backyard.

I feel its honestly like World Cup - 3 freeaking BILLION or MORE people will be watching the games. aaaaaaaaaaaand marketing says? no thanks.

That's great! You've started to discover the difference between the front and rear brakes. While the front brake has more stopping power, it can pitch you off the bike if you pull too hard. Pull too hard on the back, and your rear wheel will skid.

21 speed=3 front rings x 7 rear cogs. The three ranges of speeds overlap. You'll probably find the middle ring most useful, unless you are climbing hills.

Re: Where are the Disney cycling jerseys?

Hehehe... I just bought my first cycling jersey. I found one that's plain purple. Lavender maybe.

Hubby and I have been riding our bikes around the city here. It's small enough we can do that. We had our first 20-mile day this past weekend, in Malibu/Santa Monica. Lots of fun. My total mileage is 180-something since we bought the bikes a month ago.

I would so buy a Disney jersey.

Re: Where are the Disney cycling jerseys?

You know... seems to me, given the "tightness" factor on bicycling jerseys, that they could produce them to sell to dual markets. After all, there's a whole subculture of guys out there who like to show off what's "under the jersey" that could also appreciate bicycle jerseys if someone would put some attractive ones before them.

I'd like to see them at least experiment with this!

BTW: does EVERY bicycle jersey maker have to sell yellow jerseys? Not everyone can be in the lead, after all...

alphabassetgirl: you should join the cyclist miceclub!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

I've seen many jerseys in different colors, just usually they have ads on them or flowers or are pink, which is why I didn't buy one until now. I've worn it twice now, and fallen in it once. My big concern was not to get blood on my new jersey!

    Cyclist miceclub... off to look!

Cycling jerseys are pretty much indestructable. I still have the one that survived two major crashes--one where I broke my collarbone. And I was wearing it a week ago when another cyclist plowed into me and knocked me down. I cracked the screen on my cell phone, but not a thread is out of place on the jersey.

I wish I could say the same for shorts. They tend to get threadbare after only a year or two. Then I will only wear them in winter when I can cover them up with tights.

I think your jersey is cursed. Sheesh, I hope you don't have other crashes.

I agree though, alot of jerseys and cycling clothing in general are very well made. With the stretch like material it's not too hard to tear them.
