    Time for my pixie dust

I have to fly tomorrow. I love to travel, but hate to fly. This is a short flight, but it's windy as can be here in SoCal, and I know I'm going to hate it. Every time I get on a plane, I am anxious, and when I land, it feels a bit like a failed suicide attempt. This will probably be my, I don't know, 70th or 80th time flying. I still don't like it, but ten times more so when the wind is so strong that it shakes the house. Do y'all like to fly, or not?

I'm nervous at first from takeoff. But once the flight is underway I start to relax.

I lived. Our landing in Oakland was the hardest I ever experienced. It felt like we got dropped from the balcony onto a concrete pad. Aside frrom that, it was ok.

We flew through an electrical storm in Louisiana once. There was total silence on the airplane and I think we were all praying, so wind is nothing to me now.

The best part is landing at Bob Hope (Hollywood/Burbank) - with runways barely long enough and no overshoot space available.

I warn people that have never done it ahead of time - when the Pilots hit full brakes and the thrust reversers and gun the engines wide open the second the wheels are down, it'll freak out anyone who isn't expecting it. Heck, it freaks me out a little and I AM expecting it...
