    Pick my next car:

My wife and I are thinking of buying a new(to us) car. We have it narrowed down to about 5.

We currently own a '94 Pontiac Grand Prix which we will be keeping and a '91 Buick Century which we will be selling.

    1) 2005 Dodge Neon SE with 13,000 miles: 4 door 4 cylinder sedan fully loaded.

    2) 2005 Saab 9-2x Linear with 42,000 miles: 4 door hatchback 4 cylinder AWD fully loaded+.

    3) 2002 Jaguar x-type 3.0 with 57,000 miles: 4 door sedan 6 cylinder AWD fully loaded+.

    4) 2006 Buick Lacrosse with 19,000 miles: 4 door sedan 6 cylinder fully loaded.

    5) 2004 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 with 35,000 miles: Small Suv 6 cylinder loaded.

I know, I know, this is all over the place. Most of our driving is in the city but we do take one or two driving trips every year(although I doubt if we would ever go off road). I actually walk to work usually so this vehicle will be used mostly for outings and errands.

Our family is small. My wife, 11 year old son(who has lots of friends), two dogs who rarely travel and one cat who never travels....and me.

What no Hondas? Go for the Saab. It's unique and fun.

Don't buy the Buick or the Dodge!!

My husband has a Ford Explorer that he's had forever, no problems. I had a Ford Expedition for six years, no problems. But Buick/Dodge, there will be issues and resale is loooow.

I love Saabs and the 2005s are sharp! Maintenance is spendy, though....

I vote for the Saab. However, we have a 2005 Ford Escape and we've been problem free with it (knock on wood). The only problem is that it was perfect size for my wife and I - but now we have our son and all the things that babies come with (strollers, toys, diaper bags, etc) and it proves a bit small for us now......so, we hope to purchase something larger in late Summer and keep the Ford for me....

    Saab.

Ford and Jag are essentially the same. Look at the statistics. Ford blows.

    SAAB all the way!

We have a 2004 9-3 Arc that we got in October and we love it. Its my husbands car technically but that just means he drives it to work. Its our primary car so I use it if he is not. Such a fun car to drive! That 9-2 has serious style! Even though the turbo makes it fast as heck, the safety features evened it out so it was not nearly as much to insure as we thought it would be. But we do have to be pretty cautious to not speed.

We have been highly advised to get an extended warranty before ours expires, because its cheaper that way. Our friend has a older 9-5 and said it paid for itself a few times over. We hit the 4 year next year (we wont come close to the miles it still only has 17k).

So far we have had problems with the drivers window not working. Was about a $700 fix but covered. They also replaced the blue SAAB emblem in the front (it was chipped from a bad car wash) they said that was covered as well and put in a new one while we were there. I was just glad I no longer had to approach the Starbucks drive thru only to remember the window in his car did not work. That stunk!

Of course some guy hit it ours today.... Ugh
