What kind of beard do you like?

So, Hubster and I were discussing beard styles last night...but couldn't come to agreement on which style was best.

(Forgive the old-time barber poster, but at least it will give you an idea)
I have to admit, I kinda dig the friendly mutton chops. Hubster thinks it is too menacing...or biker-ish (for lack of a better word).
If left to his own devices, I think he would go for a Van Dyke, which I think looks devilish or magician-like.
I'm interested in other people's impressions of facial hair and cuts.
What kind of beard do you like?
(Just don't say, "None", 'cuz that's not playing along...)

My hubby has a goatee - It's short and well trimmed. He's trimmed it off only 2 times during our marriage. Each time I begged him to grow it back!

I like the chin curtain, unique, but not in a punk way.

of course thanks to my native American heritage all I can grow is the "wino" or the "child molester"


EDIT: not that Native Americans are whinos or child molesters, it's just how I look when I don't shave.
my Native American tribe (Navajo) don't grow facial hair very well.

I have a chin curtain, as it is called. But I did not grow it to encourage TGel.

We call it an "Abe" around here.

I like it, frankly.

I recently grew a short boxed beard but my wife didn't like it at all. EVERYONE else loved it except her so I shaved it off. I'm back to my goatee again.

He has the Grizzly Adams going right now...and that just doesn't work for me. A bit too un-coiffed. And the magician look...a bit too coiffed. And creepy.

Now he's saying he wants something a bit more contemporary! And men think women are difficult...sheesh!

I had a Chin Curtain with added mustache (though a very thin one) for a very long time. Though I called it a helmet strap. I don't recommend it if you have a rounder face, as it makes you look even rounder and chubbier. My current beard matches none of those (just a mustache, beard, and longish sideburns, nothing connected).

I like the friendly mutton chops on that picture, wish my 'burns would turn like that into my upper lip. Always dreamed of a handlebar 'stache, but it'll never work as my upper lip air is too wispy. I think I inheritated the Scots facial hair (thick beard and 'burns, thin mustache)
