Re: NBA Referee Bet On Games He Worked

So does this mean the Spurs get an asterisk next to their 2007 NBA Championship because of a tainted game?

    They sure should!

The Miami Heat should get an asterisk too for all the bad calls in their favor during their finals matchup with the Dallas Mavericks. I mean in two of the finals games Dwayne Wade got more free throw attempts than the entire Mavericks team combined. I think crooked officiating is not limited to one individual.

Oh and BTW this same ref. in trouble officiated at the very climactic game three of the Golden State Dallas Mavericks series this season from which the Mavericks never recovered.

The Mavs and the Suns were screwed this post season. Combine that with Sterns ruling against the Suns during that Suns/Spurs series...How can we take this league seriously?

If this is what it has come to, maybe Vince McMachon should close his professional wrestling sports entertainment fake fighting business and buy this league because these games look predetermined to me.

While we are at it, let's review the tape of Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference finals, where the Lakers had a virtual parade to the foul line against Sacramento. This jut in...your 2002 NBA Champion Sacramento Kings.

C'mon people, you could go on all day with this kind of stuff.

And today, in Federal Court in Brooklyn, New York, Tim Donaghy pleaded guilty to all charges.

I still say the only difference between him and and the other referees is that he was betting on the games that he made biased calls in. The other referees make calls so that certain teams and players win based on what Stern tells them to do, they just don't bet on the games as well. A cheat, but not for their own gambling purposes, just Stern's and those he is in league with.

Yes, when it comes to sports where officials can control the game, I am a conspiracy theorist.

The max he could get is 25 years. This is going to a black mark on the nba. Hopefully he was the only one doing it, but he obviously affected a lot of games.

Hey! How did you guess my real Identity? Just Kidding

I think what I am saying is conceivable especially in Basketball where any call can effect the outcome of a game. The refs are not getting anywhere near as much money as the players, and if Stern or an outside source were to approach them with directives in such a such game...

Now, Maricopa County (where Phoenix is located) wants to get in on the story.

Hey, Tigger, he might have worked Lakers games, too.

And now Dongahy's gonna blow the whistle (no pun intended) on other refs who may have caused fixes.
