Guys- Are you handy around the house?

Are you a fixer upper? Are you good with the mechanics, plumbing, electrical or even the wood work?

My hubby is very handy around the house.

Re: Guys- Are you handy around the house?

I've done a few things around the house. Most recently, I installed one of those programmable thermostats and I didn't electrocute myself !!!

I'm not handy at all. I've always said, work hard and make enough money so you can pay someone else to do it!

Re: Guys- Are you handy around the house?

That's one thing I've always been good at - and for that I credit a Dad that was super handy at everything, from woodworking to gardening to cars. The busier I get running my business, however, the less it makes sense to do time intensive projects instead of hiring someone else. There is something to be said for working with your hands, however - it's good for the psyche.

Re: Guys- Are you handy around the house?

I like to think I am. Everyone else thinks I am. I do what I can but usually get my father-in-laws help because he has tools the equivalent to a Sears store. I wish I had a quarter of all the tools he has!
I do everything I can on my own though. Frog's right, it is good for the psyche.

My brother is a lazy bum and doesn't do anything around the house-- My dad is handy and can fix pretty much anything that goes haywire around here.

Re: Guys- Are you handy around the house?

Heck no, not at all.

However, I am handy when it comes to cars and stuff like that. THAT I'm willing to get my hands dirty with. But when you need shingles or painting? That's why I got a career.

Polar opposite to the partner--grew up in farm country and you did things yourself.

Opposites attract, I suppose.

peace!

Re: Guys- Are you handy around the house?

yes, actually me and hubby both are. I have sanded and refinished our dining room table and coffee and end tables. I also stained and painted a bookshelf. Hubby, handles all the mechanical and technology stuff. And all the car stuff too.

Some things yes, some things not so much. All things considered, I'd rather pay a professional.

Genius!

I reprogrammed the sprinklers to run only 5 minutes instead of 15.
