Re: 'The Avengers' MiceChat reviews
I had a great time yesterday morning at The Avengers Fans Advance Screening, what a terrific ride!
To have the film's co-writer and director Joss Whedon, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige with 'The Avengers' co-stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) and Clark Gregg (S.H.I.E.L.D MVP Agent Phil Coulson) make a pre-screening appearance was the excellent OPRAH moment for nerds!
There are so many genuine pleasures in this film including the reteaming of Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo, so perfect together in David Fincher's 'Zodiac' each of their scenes loaded with tension and humor. Here they meet as Tony Stark's Iron Man and Dr. Bruce Banner respectively. With apologies to previous feature film Hulks Eric Bana and Edward Norton THIS is finally The Incredible Hulk the character and audiences deserve and have been waiting for. His humanity and SMASHtastic humor is worth the price of admission alone! All of the actors seem to be having an absolute ball stretching their character's legs particularly Chris Evans's Steve Rogers (Capitan America), Chris Hemsworth's Thor andthe indespensible Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson. The hand-to-hand fight scene between Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) is not to be believed. And the film features some fabulous cameos, sight gags and set-up for future franchise glory. The only disappointment comes from this movie's inevitable end.
As if having contributed to 'Toy Story' and creating 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer', 'Angel', 'Firefly', 'Serenity', 'Dr. Horrible' and 'Dollhouse' wasn't enough, Joss Whedon finally will have the big screen success he deserves.
