Re: 'The Avengers' -- Micechat Reviews (SPOILERS)

We'll that's our 2 votes, so far...Can't wait to see it again & again!

I had a great time yesterday morning (4/15) at The Avengers Fans Advance Screening, what a terrific ride!

To have the film's co-writer and director Joss Whedon, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige with 'The Avengers' co-stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) and Clark Gregg (S.H.I.E.L.D MVP Agent Phil Coulson) make a pre-screening appearance was the excellent OPRAH moment for nerds!

There are so many genuine pleasures in this film including the reteaming of Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo, so perfect together in David Fincher's 'Zodiac' each of their scenes loaded with tension and humor. Here they meet as Tony Stark's Iron Man and Dr. Bruce Banner respectively. With apologies to previous feature film Hulks Eric Bana and Edward Norton THIS is finally The Incredible Hulk the character and audiences deserve and have been waiting for. His humanity and SMASHtastic humor is worth the price of admission alone! All of the actors seem to be having an absolute ball stretching their character's legs particularly Chris Evans's Steve Rogers (Capitan America), Chris Hemsworth's Thor andthe indespensible Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson. The hand-to-hand fight scene between Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) is not to be believed. And the film features some fabulous cameos, sight gags and set-up for future franchise glory. The only disappointment comes from this movie's inevitable end.

As if having contributed to 'Toy Story' and creating 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer', 'Angel', 'Firefly', 'Serenity', 'Dr. Horrible' and 'Dollhouse' wasn't enough, Joss Whedon finally will have the big screen success he deserves.

Funny thing is I'm gonna see Stan Lee next weekend at the local Comic Expo, even before the movie is out in our neck of the woods.

Re: 'The Avengers' -- Micechat Reviews (SPOILERS)

I got to see the film for the 2nd time last night at an advance screening, this one at the Regent Cinemas at L.A. Live. They've got a handful of screenings left to complete tonight and tomorrow with the box office goal line finally in sight. No IMAX last night but I did receive the ultra-cool Iron Man collectible 3D glasses. The next desirable seemed to be the Captain America model.

On second viewing the film seemed for me a deeper experience, with all the smaller details and grand setpieces striking deeper chords. This film is just ridiculously entertaining and spectacularly satisfying. It's record-breaking success already overseas is no joke. This is such a long-time coming for writer/director Joss Whedon and Disney. Assemble & savor!

I feel very fortunate to have met him twice and also got his autograph. He's very inspiring and I hope I can be that energetic when I'm that age.

Yeah if you did not like this movie....don't go see action movies any more cause this had it all, it was funny, smart dialogue, believable characters and some very good fights.

Also may I say as good as John Carter did with its CGI....I feel like Avengers did an even better job with the Hulk, and all the tech in the movie to make it feel pretty darn real. I hope the movie gets some nominations from some award shows cause the movie did a great job with something that was not easy to make fit into a 2 and a half hour time frame.

I'm sure Dark Knight will be the dark super hero movie of the the year, but this one will be the most fun super hero movie for a while

Absolutely stunning!! One thing that makes me happy was that Disney did not put their name all over it. Only reference I saw was a very modest Walt Disney Studios at the very end of the credits after the second after credits scene.

There is a reason. This might or might not help:

    from 10/2010

Having already pumped up its box-office market share thanks to its relationship with Marvel Studios, Paramount was guaranteed at least another $115 million Monday when it closed a deal with Disney to transfer worldwide marketing and distribution rights to Marvel’s “The Avengers” and “Iron Man 3” to the Burbank studio.

Disney purchased Marvel Entertainment for $4.24 billion last year, but Marvel’s current cycle of movies had been contracted for release through Paramount via a distribution deal in place when Disney entered the picture.

Way back when this all started I was very pessimistic they could successfully complete this epic six movie story arc. Now that I've seen the Avengers, If I ever meet Joss Whedon I won't say a word. I'll just peel off a 10 spot and hand it over.

    Bravo.

Re: 'The Avengers' -- Micechat Reviews (SPOILERS)

I voted 5 stars I loved it seen it twice. I preferred it in non 3d. Seemed a bit more brighter and easier to follow action scenes for me.

I loved the way they were able to share the screen time between the characters it was so awesome. There is a part when they are fighting in the city and the camera starts with Captain America and iron man fighting together and it zooms up and catches a fighting scene for each avenger helping each other out. That scene there is pure awesomeness.

One of my favorite scenes is when Hulk Smacks Thor though I was rolling lol

I really hope they can get all the actors on board for a sequel.

Re: 'The Avengers' -- Micechat Reviews (SPOILERS)

To say I was completely blown away by The Avengers would be a gross understatement.

It's quite simply the most fun I've had at the movies in a LONG time. Great story, great acting, great effects. Joss Whedon is a genius (not that we didn't already know that).

The way he was able to bring in all the characters, give them all their individual screen time and not leave you wanting for more was simply brilliant.

Mark Ruffalo ... WOW. I have to admit when I heard Edward Norton was not reprising his role as Hulk/Banner I was kind of disappointed. Even though "The Incredible Hulk" felt like a rehash of Ang Lee's "Hulk" I thought Edward Norton did a pretty good job in the movie. But Mark Ruffalo ... the PERFECT person to play this role. It's now his role and I REALLY hope they make another Hulk movie. Hulk certainly got the most cheers in our theater and it'd be great to see more of that now that the character has embraced his "Hulkness".

I can't see any other movie beating this over the summer, the only ones that have a chance to are probably Prometheus or Dark Knight. I know I'll be seeing this at least once more on the big screen.
