NorCal Meet Location Poll

The date has been set for July 29! We're one step closer to having a Mice Chat Northern California Meet. Alright, so now it's time to chose a place. In the last two threads suggests have been made for various locations. Hopefully I caught them all. Here are the choices:

1. Oakland Museum 50 years of Disneyland Exhibit
2. Paramount's Great America in Santa Clara
3. Marine World in Vallejo
4. Pollardville in Stockton
5. Bonfante Garden in Gilroy
6. Santa Cruz Broadwalk
7. See Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (You can never see it too many times ) in a central location.
8. Meet up at a restaurant in a central location.

In a few months Pollardville will be closed forever. I voted for Pollardville, with a restaurant meet as my second choice.

it is a bit far for me but i could probably swing it....

According to local columnist Mike Fitzgerald it has been sold to a property developer.

Mouse Planet did an artical on the exhibit. It's linked throught the Oakland Museum page, so if you haven't checked out already you should.

Perhaps we should meet at a restaurant for lunch and then head over to the museum...or meet at the museum and then dinner afterwards. How does that sound? Anyone have any ideas of good restaurants near the museum?

I think that that's a good idea. I personally don't know the area well enough to suggest any places but if anyone does please speak up!

Well, I went to college in Oakland, but that was 10 years ago! (Oy, where did the time go?)

Anyway, I looked up some restaurants on good old Citysearch and I found this one place called The Fat Lady. It is only a mile away from the museum and it got pretty good ratings. It might be a little fancy pants for some people. But the prices actually don't look so bad for Brunch.

Another option is The Pacific Coast Brewing Company, which is less than a mile away.

I am sure there are others...these are just a few ideas. Check them out and see what you think.
