Northern California Simpsons Meet

On the heels of our last two meets it's time to start planning for our next event.

Since we have done meets in Lodi and Dublin it seems fair to make the next one further south, so I was thinking of Modesto. They have a good theater with lots of places to eat.

Looking at the movies coming out in July the next one that might work for a group is The Simpsons movie, which comes out on July 27th.

We could thus plan for a meet on Saturday the 28th in Modesto.

I will post a link to the theater once they have times listed.

Please let me know what you think.

end of july would be fine. Just nothing first week of August (4th) as it is my wife and I's (Grammer?) anniversary.

Looking at the response there doesn't seem to be as much enthusiasm for this meet so I thought I'd open the floor.

Do we want to do another meet ?

If so when ?

What movie ?

Or do we want to do something else ?

Just thought I'd ask

We'll be in Tahoe that weekend or we;d probably say yes. Any chance of a mid week meet like on August 1st or something?

Also, I think Dublin was the most central place for everyone .....about an hour drive at most for anyone. I'd much rather go there again than have to go out to the valley because that's a 2-3 hour drive for us.

I was just kinda waiting this one out. I woudn't normally go to see a Simpsons movie, but I do enjoy meeting MiceChatters.

maybe we can just do a meet and eat type thing. There is a few restaurants near the vintage fair mall that are good, and the mall is a nice one. We could meet by the disney store and shop for a while, and then go and eat. Just a thought.

Seems like Dublin was the perfect place for most of you....just about an hour drive for all. Modesto is my kind of place (friends there), but I'm not going to be able to make dinner and shopping (heck just got back from there) and the Simpsons Movie has no appeal. The Wolfpack is trying to plan another trip up North and would love to coincide with a No Cal meet....keep me updated.

Sounds like we need to maybe decide what kind of meet we want and where, then move on from that point.

I'd post a poll but I am not sure how I could combine all the options in one poll.

So let's make this a discussion of what and where and when and then once we get a consensus we can post a new thread.

What about a Simpson's Meet in Tahoe on August 27th?

Ken and I would be willing to have everyone over for a barbecue dinner at our family cabin beforehand. And if anyone wanted to stay overnight, they could as long as they don't mind a sleeping bag on the deck. There are also lots of nice and affordable motels in the area! And you'd be helping their economy get back in shape after the fire!

We're about equidistant from Modesto and Tahoe, but might be able to make this one, depending on work schedules. I'll check in here as it draws closer.

Not really Pan, didn't seem to be much interest which is why I switched to the August event thread.
