![]() | Re: Let's fight Cancer, Relay for Life - June 21-22nd Just saw this sticky. Looks like you are doing a great job. I recently did the Revlon Run/Walk for Women's Cancers and next weekend (May 30 - June 1) I will be walking the survivors lap for Lakewood Relay For Life. This will be my first time at Relay and we are leaning heavily toward having our Curves Team next year do Relay in Lakewood as it is closer than Los Angeles for Revlon. Good luck and keep up the good work.

![]() | Re: Let's fight Cancer, Relay for Life - June 21-22nd one more week! I know some of you have been in touch with me saying that you want to donate, but cant because of money issues. i understand that the economy right now just poopy. I have recieved as little as $3.00 I just want to let everyone know that it does not matter how much or how little you give. If you can give just a few dollars, that's just a few dollars more that will go to the cause. My cousin being in the committee for a few years has seen the difference this year, with the way things are. In terms of money donations and other offerings. But I can tell you this much, there is going to be a lot of people there. We have 36teams this year, the most ever for this city. So people are coming together. And i want to thank you for the donations so far, and I hope to see a lot of you next week!

![]() | Re: Let's fight Cancer, Relay for Life - June 21-22nd View Message | My Profile Relay For Life of Pico Rivera Checklist You may want to take these items to aid you during your 24 hours at Relay For Life: SAT SUN 90°F 32°C 86°F 30°C 67°F 19°C 65°F 18°C It's going to be a Hot One.
Throughout the 24 hours you will experience changes in temperature. Be prepared with a few changes of clothing and dress in layers so you can change with the temperature. Bring sun block SPF+15, hats, and clothes for both warm and cold weather. Bring two pairs of comfortable walking or running shoes in case of rain and a few pairs of socks. See check list above for other items you might wish to bring. First Aid: First aid supplies, such as bandages, ice and aspirin will be available at the Medical Tent. There will be qualified people on site to deal with any other first aid requirements or injuries. Food, Drinks, Water: Bring your own food. Some food will be available for sale on site. Water is available on site. But it is a good idea to also bring your own in the event that it runs out. Fundraising Materials to Turn In!Relay Materials not already turned in (Fundraising envelopes, Luminaria Forms, Registration Forms and Waivers etc.) Prizes and Awards: Several prizes will be given away in many different categories. Team Spirit, Most Money Raised, Best Web Site and others that will revealed at the event. Restrooms: Restrooms are available on site. My suggestion is to bring some toilet paper. The school maintenance does a great job of keeping up with the bathroom needs but I wouldn’t want to get caught at 3:00 o’clock in the morning without some. Tobacco and Alcohol: Just a reminder Relay For Life is a family event and the use of alcohol is prohibited. It is also a Tobacco Free Event. Tobacco Free does not mean banning smokers/chewers from Relay For Life; we encourage their participation but discourage their use of tobacco at the event. The most important thing is to remember to have fun. Thank you for supporting the RFL of Pico Rivera Patty Torres Online Chair, Relay For Life of Pico Rivera mzheart64@aol.com www.events.cancer.org/rflpicoriveraca Fight Back: 62 years after founding our research program, the American Cancer Society remains the largest non-profit, non-government source of funds for cancer research. By funding top early-career scholars, the Society enables them to dedicate their careers to advancing understanding of, and solutions to, cancer.
