Re: San Diego Comic Con - 2008

Sorry I didn't post Nick's schedule yet. It's been a busy week with Nick's artist, Dani, flying in from Italy on Monday!

Here it is. He'll be at the Zuda Comics table inside the DC Comics booth.

Thursday: 12-1
Friday: 12-1
Saturday: 12-1
Sunday: 12-12:30

And don't forget the Zuda Comics Panel on Sunday, 10:30-11:30, in room 4.

I hope to see you all there!

There was quite a bit of coverage of Comic Con on San Diego television stations last night. The emphasis seemed to be in two places: the traffic tie up on the I-5 and how it affected Comic Con attendees and also "has Comic Con outgrown San Diego?" Apparently Comic Con has contracted with the San Diego Convention Center through 2012, but may have to look elsewhere after that unless San Diego expands the Convention Center.

The MiceChat Story:
4 Years ago, I found a little fairy sprite trapped in a tree. She pleaded for me to set her free, and I did. As she flew off, she showered me in twinkling dust and told me that I should make a wish before the last sparkle faded away. I wished with all my heart for a way to unite all of my friends and create a magic place where we could be together whenever we wanted, wherever we were in the world. And the wish came true.

We'd love to meet everyone for a meal while we're there. But you all should DEFINITELY come by the Zuda booth to say hello to Nick.

And even better, Nick's artist is flying out from Italy to be there. It'll be Nick's first time seeing him face to face!

I'll post Nick's booth schedule when he gets it. I'm SOOOOO excited!
It was nice running in to both of you in the costume store on Sunday!
What a surprise!!

So basically, if I remember, if I have room on the memory card, and if I make it over there. (Dude, I have YET to see the entire floor ANY year. It is so massive, I never see everything.)
Can't wait to see pics of Nick at the booth, and you in costume!!! Hope the convention is a big success for Nick!

Thanks. I hope so too.

The traffic was due to a truck of meat exploding on the freeway.

Seriously. Exploding meat truck. I sh*t you not.

I wish I would've read your post before I went. Otherwise I would've stopped to introduce myself to your hubby.

I took the Amtrak down there and saw the wreckage yesterday morning. That was one serious explosion because the entire right embankment of the highway looked charred.

Re: San Diego Comic Con - 2008

Didn't know about this thread until just now... I posted this in another thread, so I thought I might re-post it here, in the more active one...

Looonggg day

Up looks fantastic already. Bolt still looks only good to me, definitely a DVD rental if not a matinee showing. It's amazing how right after seeing nearly 20 minutes of Bolt (yes, they previewed that much for us!) only about 5 minutes of Pixar can totally make me want more and more. Pixar is definitely working on a different level, no doubt about it.

Somebody made a LaughingStock out of themselves in the Q&A portion with Pete Docter, which made me briefly embarrassed to be a Disney fan. Sigh... oh well.

I have some photos of Bolt and Up ... but unfortunately I forgot my card reader at home, so you'll have to wait until Monday to see any of it.

Also caught a panel for Terminator: Salvation which blew me away. I've never particularly been a fan of the Terminator films, but this one looks awesome and I'm excited for it. It can't hurt that director McG is one hell of a panelist -- he made you want to see this film. The cast is great, too.

All-in-all another great day at Comic Con. Tomorrow is the last day... we probably won't stick around for much... its mostly a kids programming day, if I remember correctly.

Oh, and they didn't do an encore showing of the TRON 2 "trailer."

Oh yeah -- there's now an Up teaser site online -- www.Disney.com/Up --- the URL was given to Comic Con attendees first today! Enjoy
