Walt Disney hired him to score "Sleeping Beauty", which earned him the first of three Oscar nominations during his 22-year career at the studio. Mr. Bruns also wrote music for films including "The Absent-Minded Professor," "101 Dalmatians," "The Jungle Book," "Robin Hood," "The Love Bug," "The Sword in the Stone," and the studios' first live-action musical,"Babes in Toyland".
Thomas Blackburn wrote for the "Disneyland" series beginning in 1955, as well writing the lyrics for "The Ballad of Davy Crockett". He also wrote the screenplays for Disney's "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier", "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates" and "Johnny Tremain".
