I must say though..I like Shag's art, somewhat...but if that's it for the 40th...extremely underwhelming and not something I'd be interested in.

I love Josh's style. The lands he did for the 50th were fantastic. Didn't really like his New Orleans print, BUT all these prints for the HM make up for that! LOVE THEM! What a phenomenal set! Although he has a LOT of iconic images to use for inspiration :) .

It's too bad he didn't do artwork for the 40th for PotC. (Although Disney did get someone with a similar style, it just didn't have the same flair and color that Josh uses.

And it it great to see that they are using the random selection process for this event.

Oh, I Do Hope some other artists will be involved in the event. I'd love to see some sculptures and other works done for this event, too, similar to what has been seen at the WDW HM events.

In answer to the question on whether this is the 1st of several events, there has been a Pin Event pre-announcement on the Disney site for several months, and FINALLY they have some solid info on the HM Pin EVENT!!!

There is only ONE piece of merchandise I'd love for the Haunted Mansion anniversary. The perfect way to celebrate the occaision:

The Wonderful World of Disney "Disneyland Showtime" episode on DVD - - with Kurt Russell, The Osmonds, EJ Peaker, The Kids of the Kingdom and The Sound Castle - - with Kurt hosting a behind the scenes tour of the newly opened Haunted Mansion and all its secrets.

I'd buy that.

You can be an ***, if you want, and call it a rip off.

Lot's of new Disney animated movies use previous work for "inspiration". Call it what you will. Disney rips off itself all the time.

The skeleton IS in the same placement, and a silimar view. HOWEVER,
it's not difficult at all to determine which of those two pieces was done by Josh.

I love Shag's work and this will be on my wish list for birthday time!:D

I am BEYOND thrilled to see SHAG back in action with HM merchandise. I will definitely need several of these prints!

$185 for this???? I like the Shag shirts. But really $185 for this??? No legends? No presentation? No behind the scenes walk-through?

I agree, the price is outrageous, for just a cocktail reception. And it does appear that it will just be SHAG merchandise. They will have tons of prints available to purchase at Disneyana after the event. They had PLENTY of merchandise left after the SHAG 50th DL cocktail party event. (Oh, and is it even necessary to point out that not all the merchandise on the RSP form came in time for the event. That's just been another bugaboo about Disney events.)

One of the saddest parts of this "event" is that there isn't going to be a Panel Discussion. I think most fans were planning on something more the size of what they did for the Haunted Mansion Holiday Special Events, or the premiere of Hollywood Tower of Terror in DCA.

Another disappointing things about this is that there doesn't even appear to be any type of special ride through. Charging anything over $80 bucks for this type of event is insane.

Got to earn some more in order to avail this one.
