Re: Lilly Belle Model Train Set - Event Apr 21

Went and picked up 4 sets this morning, one for myself and the others for fellow Micechatters that couldn't attend.

Michael Broggie and Tony Baxter signed the engine:

Mr.Lightyear999 couldn't wait to set ours up and play with it:

That does look like a pretty nice train set,
and I like the size of the train. They had one
about a year ago that was a little bit smaller
    than I preferred.

I will have to take a look at the train on my
next trip, although I missed out on the
    autographs.

I have an original TDL RR replica HO train set from the opening in 1983. It is based on DL's Ernest S Marsh with Excursion Cars. Would love to get the Walt HO version though.

Another reason to buy this is there will soon be available HO Scale Disneyland Attraction Buildings and Rides. The first four releases will be Main Street Station, Haunted Mansion, Mad Tea Party and Sleeping Beauty Castle. These will be available this Fall or Early next year! They are being manufactured by Faller in Germany and will be plastic unassembled model kits. The prices will be around $75 to $125 and they will be exact scale models of the real buildings. How do I know this, I am in the final stages of getting the license from Disney Consumer Products to produce these.

The Park sold 150 sets in 2 hours!

Cousin, the DL ordered over 200, so hopefully there will still be some available. Like I said, this really isn't a "limited edition." If they sell fast, I suspect Disneyland will continue ordering them.

Here are some pics of the set that I just received from Wolfy999. Thanks Diane, it arrived without a scratch!!

They used the same color scheme as Michael Broggies book, "The Walt Disney Railroad Story" one of the best biographies ever written about Walt's railroading days.

    Keep us informed.

These plastic model kits, will the require paint, or will the plastic be
the correct color of the various attractions? If they need paint,
will paint be included. I hate kits, where you have to go out and
    buy more supplies.

The working date for them to be available through Carolwood.org is June 10th. Possibly sooner if the Park doesn't order more.

No, Barfy (can I call you that?), I didn't attend. Too far away!
