Haha, well we're getting a 5 day Star Wars weekend Memorial Day weekend at the Los Angles Convention Center. There are exclusives there too but not quite as fun as the Disney ones.

I was just thinking the same thing. We got Jedi Training Academy after WDW got theirs. Maybe Star Wars Weekend will be coming up sometime soon? I can only hope so!

Perhaps the reason being is that Disneyland is just too small and busy during this time period to have dozens of autograph booths set up around Tomorrowland, and if they spread out to other areas of the park, then that would just be out of theme and a crowd control nightmare.

DCA is the park built for this sort of thing and they know how to handle it with the ABC preview days that they used to have.

And to add onto that, the actors that sign at these star wars weekends are actors that many of us can see each and every year at the San Diego Comic-Con. Certainly not a luxury that Florida residents have at their grasp.

Maybe they should do it every January on ONE weekend to celebrate the anniversary of Star Tours at the same time. I think that would be fun.

I agree with everything else you say except this! LOL

Disney seems to have no problems putting up tents and booths for travel executives and radio stations throughout Disneyland. Why would they do anything different in regards to Star Wars? Just a thought...

I love those airport posters. I wish they offered them for sale. I bet they would make tons of money. Thanks for sharing.

I remember them having a Star Wars day or weekend one year at DL a number of years ago. Dunno how well it did.

Merchandise report from SWW: Opening Day

Well, I just got back to my room after a visit to D-MGM to get some merchandise this morning.... gee, the crowds weren't too bad (note sarcastic tone), it was only a FOUR and 1/2 HOUR wait! I meandered into the park at opening (9am, silly me) and after being misdirected by several CM's I finally found the merchandise store at the back of the park. I got in line at 9:30am, and walked out of the building at 2:10pm. At least the weather was nice and cool, as most of the wait was outside.

It just surprised me that with the huge line of people waiting to buy stuff on opening day, they only had FOUR stations set up where they were pulling merchandise for each guest (and of course guests were inspecting everything). Last week at the POTC event, they had about 3-4 times that number set up at the merchandise store.

Well, at least they had what I was waiting for (the poster pin boxed set, LE500), and had only run out of one item (the LE 100 framed set) when I finally got to the front of the line. Fortunately, I didn't want it anyway. I think they started running out of some items not long after I left.
