Dream, Imagine, Create ~ The Art of Disney Parks Event
September 13 - 15, 2007

Disneyland® Resort
Join us as we celebrate Dream, Imagine, Create ~ The Art of Disney Parks which showcases the talents of an array of Disney Artists.
The event scheduled to take place in September 2007, will include artwork on display currently at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach, California, a special live auction where we will offer treasures from our private reserves including 50th Anniversary celebration items and beyond, as well as other opportunities to purchase archival pieces of Disney history.

In addition, the Downtown Disney® District will host an artist festival over the course of the weekend (September 15-16).

Reservations will be available online beginning July 18, 2007

This is just the art work from the Laguna Festival of Arts, and its being moved to Disneyland after the Festival of Arts ends, right? So where are they going to display this at the Resort if the Disney Gallery is closing?

BUT they also mention an auction of "treasures from our own

If the auction is similar to what they did for the 50th Auction,
the auction will be held in DL Hotel's main ballroom, with the
actual auction items on display in some of the adjoining rooms.

I wonder if any portions of the Castle Crowns or jewels will be
up for auction.

I saw this on the events page a couple days ago. The only thing that sounds interesting to me is the live auction because I'd be curious as to what 50th stuff they're offering, but the timing is awful for me, and I can't take another day off to do the auction, so I'm skipping this event altogether.

They have pictures of some of the auction items, now

And yes, parts of each of the crowns are being auctioned,
as well as some of the hidden "50" Mickeys, including the
"50" that was on the front of the castle.

They will also be having a sale on other DL signs/decorations,
but the way it looks, in order to get into the sale as early
as possible, the higher the $$$$ you have to spend for the
package. (With hotel $795 to $675, you get into the sale at 7am)

If you purchase a package without hotel ($120 you get in at 10am),
you don't get into the sale until later. Of course, event
services doesn't give a decent listing of what specifically will
be in the sale, or what the cost will be.

I haven't seen a thread here about this yet... is anyone thinking of going to this event? I think I might, just for the auction and to look at what they might offer in the "Dream Sale." It looks like basically a fancy way to present a DLR garage sale. There could be some neat stuff. I'm not crazy about the artwork that they have in store for the RSP sale (which is a good thing). I haven't registered yet, but still might since I'm not interested in the RSP (the deadline to turn in the RSP forms was 8/15 so it's too late to participate). They haven't sold out of any ticket packages yet; it looks like registration is still open for all levels.

The auction looks like it will be fun, they always are. There's nothing listed that looks like I really need it (once again a good thing!), but there are several "surprise lots" listed. I have been to several of these event auctions and they are always a blast. I have to be careful though, every time I've been, I end up bidding on something (and ended up going home with stuff on more than one occasion!).
