Great update - nice to see the goings on in a park I won't be visiting anytime soon!

Wow - great column. Looking forward to part II.

Its truly amazing when you consider what can be done with a park when
a little imagination and a lot of money is applied.

Its times like this I wish OLC would buy DCA.

Wow, Wow, & Wow!!! Unbelieveable that this would be such difference from the American Disney Theme parks. Absolutely wish I could go there and experience it first hand. Come on Disneyland, let's get with it!

Wow those are some awesome shots... I was at Tokyo Disney Sea during this Halloween party, and they had no decorations up... Maybe I should have gone to TDL.

Anyway, if WDW in Orlando had half a brain and decorated like this, and setup the Haunted Mansion with the Nightmare before Christmas theme, they could potentially steal some business from USF/IOA's HHN festivities, by allowing parents to bring their kids to WDW instead of enduring HHN, which is a little to much for the youngsters.

To this day I never could understand why WDW never really went out and embraced the holidays (aside from Christmas). I always try to go to WDW around October and I would love to see them decorate MK like this. I mean they dont have to do every since park in WDW, just MK would be nice.

I wonder if enough people wrote to Disney they would listen.

Gorgeous decorations. I'm really hoping that the folks out here get a clue, and start doing our park up. I see no reason why our park shouldn't look as good as it does at Xmas time. That's part of the fun of "seasons"!

Great pics and I look forward to part II.

Does anyone know why Disneyland and even Disneyworld really have very little mention of the Halloween season? I remember seeing old pictures of Disneyland with pumpkins and hay barrels in town square but now, and in comparison to both TDL and DLP they do so little here in the states? Why?

So how come the US parks don't get into Halloween like that? I didn't think Halloween was that big in Japan. I've seen photos of Knott's Berry Farm's Halloween event. Disneyland could have something similar same as well.

Pirates seem to be big at Halloween. Hoe about a Pirate themed event with tie-ins to Pirates of The Caribbean the ride, Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, and Pirates III?

Well, I can guess the answer this year for DL: Basically, no need and no money.

Right now DL is *still* quite crowded (I believe they expanded hours this week)
mainly due to the 50th traffic.

Also I doubt as if there's really any extra funds in the DL budget for this
at this point with the Subs and Monster Inc under-construction and
    the rumored new monorail cars.

So for this year, DL management (correctly IMHO) sees no need to boost
attendance as they're really not seeing much of a drop-off from the
summer traffic. (I personally attest to this..I was there two weeks ago, it
WAS the most crowded that I can recall in Sept... almost summer-like
    crowds esp on Sat).

BTW. thanks for the great pics, Chris!

Great job by Chris on this report but I gotta say...Maybe all of you missed the TDL Halloween 2005 photo essay I posted here (and at many other disney sites) 3 weeks ago which was similar to Chris' and featured over 100 photos of everything TDL is doing for Halloween but DARNED Epson screwed up and lost my account!!!
I am fit to be tied...

But at least I'm beginning to see results of what I set out to do since I set foot at TDR in 1989. I wanted to show ALL how much better they do *everything* as opposed to WDW and DLP. (Too early to tell about HKDL)
As for DLR..they could do much better but their efforts for their 50th have restored the faith that bigger and better things may happen over there.

VIVA TDR!!! *The* Best Disney Resort on EARTH!

Yes, you should have gone to TDL. TDS is busy with their own 4th anniversary celebration "Dramatic DisneySea: Wishes Come True" with lovely decorations of their own, and they will NOT overlap events. Yet another bit of Disney Magic at TDR that "exceeds guests' expectations". When was the last time WDW did that to anyone here??

you know what at least they did not do an exact copy of Dlp I am glad they used ghost insted of the pumpkin men, not that the pumpkins are bad. It just shows that once the 50th is over DL should be taken over by zombies now that pumpkin men and ghosts are taken
