    Good-Bye to the Incandescent Lightbulb

Does anyone know if and how Disney will be effected when the ban on incandescent lightbulbs takes effect next January?

I thought congress was thinking of changing that law, especially considering that the "newer ones" contain mercury, and the disposal issues they cause.

If congress would concentrate on REAL issues instead.

Re: Good-Bye to the Incandescent Lightbulb

There is no "ban" on incandescent light bulbs, rather the law specifies a set of standards to be phased in between 2012 and 2014 to improve light bulb efficiency. Incandescent three-way bulbs, appliance bulbs and many kinds of specialty/decorative lights bulbs are exempt. The law won't affect the show at Disneyland (although management might ).

If you don't want to wade through the text of the bill, here's a summary.
"With the acquisition of Marvel and now of Lucasfilm,
Disney may have finally found the grail. You don't need
imagination or art. All you need is a brand."
