Very wary of a 'Fantasmic II'. ie. WDW version coming to Anaheim. Eek.

loved the info - but i have to disagree with Al. Toddlers and even 4 year olds need a place to run around and just play - not sit in a stroller or ride an attraction that presents something to them. play is a very important part of child development and despite his description of the Pooh play place it has seen some decent numbers.
Not all things can be created for adults to enjoy and hang out. would you rather have it in the lagoon? kids are already in toontown to see mickey, why not have it there? save the lagoon for another project (like a new table service restaurant or attraction).

Wow, now that you mention the postcard concept... DCA could have been really good even with the California concept if fully developed. I really like that idea. If only the mountains were real.

(VERY OLD!) TRIP REPORTS
I'd have to agree that a Toddler pay area in Toontown works MUCH better than a huge one in the old Motorboat Cruise area. Most of us never used Goofy's Bounce House anyway. They are just making that location usable to some portion of the Disneyland audience again. Sounds like a smart move.
On the Monorail front. Let's see how long they can keep the current Monorails running in shuttle mode. That is a LOT of wear and tear. I feel sorry for the maintenance guys. They are going to be so busy.
If you ask me, as long as they are redoing the entrance, they should make a monorail stop there.
I second the "Fantasmic 2" ick reaction. Don't mess with a successful concept! The play area doesn't bother me because that's all the Bounce House really was anyways. I am looking forward to a DCA makeover and anxiously await what they finally decide.
Thatnks for the update AL, and gret pics as usual Darkbber (I love the Princess picture)

I hope they do something with the former Motorboat Cruise area soon.
Even though I am not much of a Goofy Bounce House person.....What will the lawyers do next???? close or water down all the coasters in fear that a person may get whip lash? Lawyers at Disneyland just worry to much I think. Heck they worry about things more than I do!
I third the ick to Fantasmic 2! As much as I would love to see a new Fantasmic, I would rather wait until I have seen the original - yet to go to Disneyland.

I'm in disagreement here. Fantasmic is getting old...and if a newer one is done correctly, what better a way to pull in the crowds? But, if they call it "Fantasmic II", I'll puke.
And Al, I'm slightly disappointed in you. I love reading your updates, but completely trashing the idea of a toddler play area appalls me. What Jay did was a nice, considerate thing, and I'm glad that his secretary spoke up. I have no children of my own as of now, but if I did, I'd want an area that my tots could utilize if need be. Disneyland isn't strictly made for people that can handle thrill rides...it's for everyone.
Take me to Neverland...
