Kinda bummed about the nonfunctioning steam and Yeti for EE. I hope they fix that. What's more, I hope they have constant upkeep on this new E-Ticket...

Thanks for the update, Kevin. But where's the pic of the winner of the Pixel Pursuit contest?
The image was forgotten through my negligence. And I don't have server access, so here's the image right now:

The palm seen near the enterance to AK is called Wes Plam (GET IT!?!?!), anyway, he's been there as long as I remember the park being open. He moves around and squirts water. I always like looking for the guy who controls it.![]()
...a vaguely celtic music fills the air...
How odd that I've never seen Wes Palm despite all these years of visits. Maybe I just wasn't looking, and I'll see it more often now that I will be watching.

Thanks for the update, Kevin. May I offer one nitpicky correction?
Please note that the port deal never involved giving DPW control over security of the ports. They would have taken over operations and management, but security at every US port is the responsibility of the federal government (US Coast Guard and US Customs and Border Protection). The city (part of a city-state "emirate" of the same name) was recently in the news because one of its companies, Dubai Ports World, was to have taken control of security at several American ports.

2 weeks, yipes, what am I going to do for 2 weeks without MiceAge? I'm not kidding unfortunately, I always rely on MiceAge for a steady source of entertainment and news...but Al and the rest of the MiceAge crew really deserve a break. After all, they don't even *have* to do ANYTHING for us. All of this is pure volunteer (voluntEAR(?)...sorry, had to do it) work and for that I thank the entire hard-working crew at MiceAge. Enjoy your 2 week break guys, you've more than earned it.
It's good to hear from Kevin again, I really missed his insightful columns. After Al's column's, I look forward to Kevin's the most.
First off, CONGRATS to Kevin on finding out he will be having a second child... well, his support of his wife having a second child
And as for the 2 week hiatus, well, MiceChat isn't taking a break, though I heard that the Wednesday Round-Up at MiceAge is. But you will find much news and photos from many folks (including myself) here at MiceChat during the MiceAge break.
And then I presume in about three weeks (give Al some time after he comes back from his two week trip, and he is visiting 4 very interesting cities, 2 here in the east coast of the USA, plus two in CENTRAL Europe (check his column for more hints).
I will be looking forward to the return of the articles on MiceAge after its hiatus...![]()

Just FYI about the Magical Express stuff you mentioned in your article...
When I made reservations a few weeks back (for May 06) the reservation agent told me that the magical express service will no longer be free after 2006. At some point they will charge for it (either late 06 or early 07 she said).
Still, I would rather buy it from Disney than some random transport company. Not saying all shuttle companies are bad, but if I have a problem with the Disney shuttle I KNOW I can get the problem resolved to my satisfaction.
A recent Orlando Sentinel article had a Disney spokesperson claim that there are no plans to start charging for the service.
